Are we getting a movie about the FEVER series?
OMGOMG!!! How cool has been this note! I'm dying here people!
Well according to this the actors who could play the characters are:
Kristen Bell and Hayden Panettiere for Mac
Julian McMahon, Gerard Butler or Eric Etebari for BARRONS:

Charlie Bewley would be our lovely V'Lane
And Chris Ivan Cevic would play our Darroc

dude, that's just too much to bare. I'm not sure I would be able to go on with my life if Gerard becomes Barrons. He's too TOO hot for our eyes to bare. It's a killer combination.
I don't know who Darroc is, I haven't read Faefever and Dreamfever yet but this V'Lane does have a certain cockiness about him so that's good.
Darroc is the bad guy, The ex-boyfriend of Mac's sister. At least that's what I remember. If not, I need that re-read BADLY! LOL.
the other two would work, but please no Julian McMahon for barrons. my first choice is still joe(alicide;true blood) for barrons.
i think i would perfer kristen bell to Hayden Panettiere if it was just those two competing for the role of mac.
I love this series and would love to see it turned into a movie. I think Eric Etebari would be the best pick of the three for Barrons.
im so happy wit the movie news! i cant wait til we get real confirmation wit who the actors will be, the release date and everything...this has gotten me very excited!

lol, I love Barrons, but shhh, don't let him know.
Mariya! I want Joe too!!! He's so hot. I wish they took him into consideration, I really can see him play the role. Every time he appears on True Blood I melt!

OMG! a movie would be soooo great! I hope they pick it up. Now I'm torn between Joe & Gerard as Barrons. I love them both.

Now McMahon's been the one I've always pictured as Barrons-didn't even know he was in the running.

Sad news. Optioning a movie usually means giving up your rights to those characters so no side books.
omgomgomg !! i definitely perfer kristen bell but i don't know if i love Charlie Bewley for v'lane but maybe that's because when i read it v'lane is unhumanly hot and no one can compare lol

I always pictured Travis Fimmel as V'lane..so I'm with you there.

I love Julian McMahon, but he may be a bit too pretty to be Barrons. And while the other two choices are hot, Butler in particular, I still think they look a little too old. I too prefer Kristen Bell for Mac. I personally feel Hayden would look WAY too young with the choices for Barrons. Just my opinion...
I'm not too crazy about either choice for Mac. They could come up a better choice. Just cause they're petite and blond doesn't mean they are the right choice. Or maybe it's because I wanna be Mac. lol But really I'de like to see other candidates.
i love unknown actors b/c we would not reconize them from anything and we would always see them, reconize them in their role for this. i dont mind kristen bell, but hayden is wayyyyy too young and plus from her acting i dont think she would be good for the part, but i would also like to see more candidates for both characters. im not too crazy wit all of the barrons choices honestly, maybe b/c i still see joe(true blood) in my mind for barrons.
i knoe, but even if hayden looks to young i still wouldnt want her for mac, kristen does look very young still to me and looks much better the part.
LV, you are right but I think with KB vs HP KB offers the ability to grow if there is more than one movie, however I don't see HP being ableto grow with the role. I don't know if there is another actress out there that could fit the role
in my opnion, ive seen hayden's acting and i honestly feel she is not rite for this role. and i also agree that kristen would be able to grow more wit each movie.
OMG Hayden killed as Lizzie on ATWT. She is a great actress but I am not sure I could picture her as Mac but definately no to Kriten!!! Come on Mac has to have some edge to her. I want an unknown for Mac. I also think that Cam- from Twilight would make a great Barrons (died hair) or Darroc. I like Joe (Alcide) from True Blood but I am afraid he is not a very strong actor. I think that Gerard Butler is way too old to play Barrons- who is 30. I think they need to do the Twilight thing and go with more unknowns if they do a movie.
that is most true. a movie would always turn out better wit unknown actors which i hope wit all my mite they do that for the fever series movie. b/c it could be a big surprise that there r actors we dont knoe out there that could be perfect for the part.
I don't think either of the actress make me think of Mac. Kristen Bell doesn't look smoking hot as a brunette (and Hayden would look silly I think), and I almost picture Mac as transforming into this hot badass when she goes to dark hair.
I want an unknown for Mac as well.. Kristen and Hayden are fine actresses and they're pretty, but they're not Mac to me. If I absolutely HAD to pick one, I'd go with Kristen, but I think we need someone who can play original Mac well, cute, spunky, girly, but then totally transform into badass! I don't know who that would be, that's why I'd like to see someone fresh. I haven't done a re-read yet because I'm waiting until closer to the release...someone please, help me remember Darroc! That is aweful, but everytime he comes up in a thread, I can't remember exactly his role??? I know V'lane, Barrons, the other cute Irish guy( can't remember name right now, Christian, right?), but Darroc has just slipped right out of there.
Oh...and for Barrons. The picture earlier in this thread for Eric Etebari is totally how I would imagine him. I didn't remember him being that attractive in Witchblade, maybe because he was crazy and he had all that facial hair??? Anyway, someone like him would be great. Rugged, but refined with smoky eyes, a deep husky voice and built, but not bulgy (except where it counts...I'm bad!)
Darroc was part of the the queens high Council he tried to over throw the queen and release the unseelie.
It didn't work and was turned to human. He is attempting to do it again.
He was alinas boyfriend.

Yeah, I always agreed with Kristen Bell as Mac until I did my rereads and realized she would be dark haired for a majority of the movie which wouldnt suit her, but honestly, I am against the idea of an unknown in the part.
i knoe. she is lovely as a blonde, but no, why cant she also be just as beautiful as a burnette. ugh

Ok...Thank you, I can't believe I forgot that now! I'm definitely going to have to do some re-reading before February. The excerpts so far have been pretty vague, but they confuse me...I feel like I've forgotten much of the story line. It has been since last September that I read them, so that makes sense.

so this was poster KKM in her forums where i was checking out movie news:
In fact, I feel very differently than I did a few years ago about letting the Fever series being done for film or television. It is no longer under option with 20th Century Fox and I'm not shopping it. If the right fit comes along in terms of production, vision, actors, great but since I've finished Shadowfever, I feel pretty complete, LOL. It's much more important to me that it's done WELL than that it's done.
That being said...the graphic novel is going to be awesome. The visual representation will be true to my vision. I have full consultation with the artist and just finished a 55 page treatment on the settings and characters.

OH NO! So I guess there will be no movie. I'm so sad about that. I really wanted to see actors for this characters I love so much!
This is what we know so far:
Twentieth Century Fox Expresses Interest in the Fever Series
If you've never heard of Karen Marie Moning you're missing out. Moning is a New York Times best selling author who writes paranormal romance, and now urban fantasy. Though the two sets of stories are different in feel,
their worlds are connected. Her romance novels consist of time traveling, druids, faeries, sexy highlanders and Celtic mythology. Her current Fever series contains many of the same elements as her Highlander novels, but with a darker, edgier feel to it. It's also written in first-person. The Fever series follows the story of MacKayla Lane, a young American woman from Georgia who journeys to Ireland seeking revenge for her sister's death. While in Ireland Mac discovers a whole new world that she never knew existed; a dangerous world filled with unimaginable creatures, people who need her help, men who want her, and to make matters worst, she discovers she's not who she thought she was.
With such a complex and well written story as Moning's Fever series, it's no wonder that the film rights have been optioned by Twentieth Century Fox/New Regency. Unfortunately for the fans, Moning has no say in the production or casting for the movie(s). At present there has been no mentioning of even a script, but according to The New York Times, a studio executive by the name of Anna Kokourina has been listed. Kokourina is responsible for the department of Twentieth Century Fox that makes movies outside of the US. What does that mean for the potential Fever movie? The probability of filming on location in Ireland.
In recent months there have been a lot of buzz about the Fever movie on Moning's forum. There have even been actors who have expressed interest in the movie. Perhaps it's because the fifth and final installment of the
Fever series, Shadowfever, is set to be released on December 28, 2010, or perhaps her devoted fans, the "Moning Maniacs" have been tirelessly spreading the word, or in this case the "fever". There are several threads on Moning's forum that are dedicated to "casting" for the movie, but it's all in good fun. Some popular fan choices for the role of Mac has been Kristen Bell of When in Rome, and Heroes, Hayden Panettiere. For the role of the enigmatic Jericho Barrons, it's been everyone from Gerard Butler (The Ugly Truth), Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck) to Eric Etebari, who many might recognize as Ian Nottingham from the TV series Witchblade.
In late 2009 a "maniac" had contacted Etebari on Facebook informing him about the Fever series, a potential movie, and that he was the fan favorite to play the role of Barrons. Apparently Etebari's interest was peeked because he promptly got in touch with the author, picked up a copy of Darkfever, the first book in the series, and have since been adopted by the "maniac" clan. He's even done a personal interview with Moning, participated in a shout out video, and provided a photo for the "Official Jericho Barrons" Facebook page.
Another actor who has expressed interest in the potential Fever movie is English actor Charlie Bewley, who's most recently known for his role in New Moon as a vampire named Demetri. It all stared with a tweet, how that tweet came to be is still a mystery. Supposedly a "maniac", not the same one who contacted Etebari, had met Bewley at a convention and mentioned the Fever movie to him, and how she thought he would be perfect for the part of V'lane. Bewley then tweeted, "Anyone familiar with "The Fever Series" - a character called U'lane? Please FURNISH me with some info." By "U'lane" he obviously meant V'lane, the Seelie fae prince, who's a major character in the series.
More recently, actor and filmaker Chris Ivan Cevic (Henry John and the Little Bug), has expressed interest in playing the series main villain, Darroc. He was also contacted by a "maniac." Cevic has picked up a copy of Darkfever, as well as one of the Highlander novel as suggested by another "maniac", to get a full grasp on the character. He's even dropped by the forum to say 'hi' to the "maniacs," and thanked them for their support.
Will all this effort by Moning's fan be enough to get the ball rolling on a Fever movie? Only time will tell. As much as the "maniacs" have managed to accomplish so far in terms of building up a buzz about the movie, it wouldn't be a surprise if a script gets written not too long after the release of Shadowfever.
