As the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 approaches tomorrow, some of the game’s key developers at Monolith Soft have been featured in Nintendo’s ‘Ask the Developer” Q&A news section. While there are several interesting topics Tetsuya Takahashi, Koh Kojima, and Genki Yokota discuss in regards to how the game compares and ties into its predecessors, one of the more exciting pieces of news to come out of the interview was in regards to Xenoblade Chronicle 3’s Expansion Pass DLC.

In part three of ‘Ask the Developer Vol. 6, Xenoblade Chronicles 3’, Genki Yokota had the following to say about the Expansion Pass just before the interview came to a close:

“This is something to consider after you have played this game, but we are offering an additional Expansion Pass. We will be adding a new story at the end of the Expansion Pass, and we are thinking of making its volume of content as large as Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. We hope that those who enjoyed that content, as well as newcomers, will pick it up.”

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country initially started development as an expansion to Xenoblade Chronicles 2, however, the DLC ultimately ended up being its own standalone release that customers of the Expansion Pass were given access to. Torna ~ The Golden Country not only heavily expanded upon the lore of its predecessor, but it aimed to refine some of its gameplay elements and bridge the gap between Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s flashbacks and present-day events.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releases tomorrow, Friday, July 29th. The game’s Expansion Pass is also digitally available for $29.99. Players who purchase the DLC will receive a few helpful items and color variations of existing outfits during the base game adventure.
