Oklahoma City television and radio icon Danny Williams has died.The 85-year-old passed away at his home on Tuesday afternoon. He had been battling an illness since last fall, family members said.Williams is preceded in death by one daughter. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, and three daughters. Williams has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.In addition to many memorable characters Williams created such as Dan D. Dynamo and 3-D Danny among others, Williams was a highly successful radio personality for WKY radio. Williams also hosted a daytime talk show called "Dannysday," which was on for 17 years from 1967-84.Most recently, Williams had been the morning host for KOMA-FM until 2008.Family members said friends and fans are welcome to attend a special memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at the OKlahoma Historical Society to celebrate his life and career.Crime footer
