Connie Nielsen is an actress who played Detective Dani Beck in six Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episodes. She filled in for Mariska Hargitay, who was on maternity leave at the time of filming.
Nielsen's film debut was in the French film Par où t'es rentré ? On t'a pas vu sortir (with Jerry Lewis, who also appeared with Nielsen in the episode "Uncle"). She is known for her role in the DC Extended Universe of movies as Queen Hippolyta in Wonder Woman, Justice League and the Synder Cut version of the film (both with Jeremy Irons, Ezra Miller, Joe Morton, and J.K. Simmons and Harry Lennix in the Synder Cut), and Wonder Woman 1984 (with Pedro Pascal). She also starred in the pilot episode of FBI (with Missy Peregrym and Jeremy Sisto). Nielsen also starred in the film Gladiator (with Spencer Treat Clark) and its sequel Gladiator 2.
Nielsen later went on to say that she would never return to SVU due to the overwhelming amount of negative reception towards Dani Beck from fans of the series.
