After keeping their relationship very low-key and out of the tabloids for the last three years, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have reportedly taken things to the next level and started living together.

The couple has apparently been cohabitating since October in a $12.5 million Malibu mansion purchased by the Coldplay singer, according to People. A source told the outlet, “Chris was always a big fan of Malibu. He loves the beach and often goes surfing and running.” The musician first moved to the beachside town in 2016 after his conscious uncoupling from ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. The source added that while Johnson has always “seemed like more of a city girl,” she's also learning to love the more laidback lifestyle of Malibu. “She seems to enjoy it as much as Chris does,” the source said. “They both love the outdoors and often take beach strolls. They also support local restaurants.”

In December, the actress sparked engagement rumors after she was photographed out in West Hollywood wearing a very large emerald ring on her left-hand ring finger. While nothing has been confirmed, an engagement would be a logical next step for the couple as Johnson is already very much a part of Martin's blended family, regularly heading to Paltrow's L.A. home for Sunday dinners with her and Martin's two children, Apple and Moses. “It's obvious that everyone still gets along great,” the source added.

Last year, Paltrow opened up about how she feels about her ex-husband's girlfriend, telling Harper's Bazaar, "I love her. I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning in to something like that." And it seems that Martin also has Johnson's parents' approval as her mom Melanie Griffith told People in 2018, “I adore him. But she is very private about her life, and I respect that.”
