Star Wars favourite Daisy Ridley has been replaced by Fifty Shades of Grey's Dakota Johnson in an upcoming drama starring Sean Penn.
Daisy, who played Rey in the recent Star Wars trilogy, was initially attached to the project back in 2017, but now Johnson is in line to lead alongside Penn.
According to Deadline, Johnson and Penn will star in director/writer Christy Hall's Daddio, which the Suspiria actress will also produce through her TeaTime Pictures banner.

Daddio, which is tipped to premiere at the Cannes film festival, follows the story of a young woman who jumps into the backseat of a yellow taxi after landing in New York City.
"The cabbie, Clark, throws the vehicle into drive and the two head out into the night, striking up the most unexpected conversation," the synopsis continues.
"What begins as amusing chit-chat quickly takes a turn towards mysterious and playful, then grows into viscerally honest revelations about relationships, sex and power dynamics, loss and vulnerability."

Billed as a "contained yet kinetic drama", Daddio will explore the "complexities of human connection", proving that chance encounters with total strangers have the power to change a person's life in unexpected ways. Sounds deep.
As well as Daddio, Dakota Johnson will star in Netflix's adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Persuasion. Dakota plays Anne Elliot in the upcoming romance, alongside Crazy Rich Asians' Henry Golding as Mr Elliot.
