Chris Martin reveals how girlfriend Dakota Johnson helped him improve Coldplay concerts for deaf and hard of hearing audience members
Chris Martin has revealed how his girlfriend Dakota Johnson helped him improve his Coldplay concerts for hearing-impaired audience members.
He told CBS Mornings that Dakota gifted him a SUBPAC, a vest that allows wearers to physically feel the impact of sounds in case they cannot hear them.
The 45-year-old rock star took the idea and ran with it, deciding to hand out SUBPACs to deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members at Coldplay shows.

Dakota herself appears to have gotten the notion from Billie Eilish's brother and co-writer Finneas O'Connell, whom Chris mistakenly referred to as 'Finneas Eilish.'
'My partner, she said: "I got you a Christmas present of a SUBPAC,"' Chris dished while appearing on CBS Mornings this week.
'She said it's like what Finneas Eilish wears onstage when he's with Billie, and it vibrates, so it's useful for someone like Finneas to hear where the one is on the bass drum,' the heartthrob continued.

In addition to distributing the SUBPACs to those who need them, the concerts also provide sign language interpreters for the hearing-impaired.

'We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,' she explained to Elle UK last year. 'Most of the partying takes place inside my house.'

She is no stranger to the glare of the public eye - her parents are Miami Vice sizzler Don Johnson and Working Girl star Melanie Griffith, and her maternal grandmother is the Old Hollywood blonde Tippi Hedren of The Birds flame.
Meanwhile Chris shares his two children - Apple, 18, and Moses, 16 - with his amicable ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who is also friendly with Dakota.
Gwyneth inspired widespread mockery when she popularized the phrase 'conscious uncoupling' during her split from Chris in 2014.
