My dad once told me his father said they were cut from a different cloth. I think I’m part of “that” cloth.

I love my father. LOVE him, respect him and his intelligence. But, I think he is part of the “ADD is bullshit” mentality crowd and instead of getting a career in a blue collar job, like I wanted, he forved me to go to college which was years and YEARS of failure, retrying, giving up, low self esteem to meet his expectations.

Eventually I had to give up on college and instead of getting a career in a trade, Ive just had “jobs.” Not really a mentality of self reliance but almost gaslighting from my parents that everything else but college will be a failure. I’m not a failure by any means except for never getting the ADHD diagnosis like I know ai have. Instead, my mom also tries to gaslight me on ADHD telling me my grades were always good until a certain point
