What is a free virtual consultation like?

During a free virtual consultation, a design consultant from The Home Depot will meet with you remotely via online video conference. They’ll show you product samples, help you envision different options in your home using a 3D digital design tool and give you a quote. You’ll have the chance to take and submit your own measurements, or we can arrange for professional measurement of your space.

A virtual consultation typically lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. To prepare, you’ll receive a welcome email with instructions for taking and submitting measurements and downloading or accessing the video conference platform that will be used at the time of your appointment.

What is a free in-home consultation like for home organization services?

During a free in-home consultation, a design consultant from The Home Depot will come to your home to discuss your project, take professional measurements and give you a quote. They’ll show you product samples and help you envision different options in your home using a 3D digital design tool. An in-home consultation typically lasts about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

To prepare, please make sure to have your area(s) clean and accessible so we can take accurate measurements. Please also make sure all pets are put away before your design consultant arrives.

I didn't know what the finished product was going to look like before I paid for it. The project manager seemed hurried, and he provided very few renderings. He didn't help me refine the design and make it fit my space. I'm not happy with the materials (was never shown samples or photos of finished projects), regret the dimensions, and can't help but feel like I was rushed into a decision so that I could get a dubious discount. The pricetag would have been up there with with custom built-in shelves without the discount, so I feel ripped off. The crew who installed the unit was fine. But I hate the extra layer of panels on the top, which is apparently supposed to look like molding. It doesn't look deliberate though, it looks like extra materials were left on top and need to be removed. I will have to modify the project significantly before I'm okay with it.

The entire process was very easy. I love the final product! The only issue we had was that the installers were scheduled to be at our house between 9 and 10. They were late showing up at 11. There was supposed to be a second person helping the first man that showed up, but he didn?t show until after 12:30. They did finish the job, but not until 7:30pm. They really were good, but I wished they had both showed up on time and the job had been finished prior to dinner.

This project that should have taken 1 day took over 1 month to complete due to issues with the initial production. Once the mispronunciation pieces were redeveloped, the new installer was not prepared to complete the project and we had to reschedule for the following week. All-in-all, we are disappointed with the overall project and would appreciate so sort of refund?why? Well, we had to live with our entire pantry cleared out and packed within our dining room area for over a month, including during our planned Easter family dinner.
