Cold front brings isolated showers, relief from heat in Fort Worth area
After weeks of unseasonably warm temperatures, the Dallas-Fort Worth area should see slightly cooler weather this week, according to the National Weather Service of Fort Worth.
A cool front moved into the Tarrant County area Sunday afternoon, bringing some scattered storms followed by lower temperatures overnight.
The cooler temperatures should stick around throughout the week, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s. Those temperatures are more normal for this time of year in North Texas.
On Sunday, the high of 98 was much warmer than normal — historically, the average temperature for Sept. 25 is 86 degrees, meteorologist Juan Hernandez said — but the rest of the week should be closer to normal.
A tropical storm approaching Florida’s coast in the latter part of the week could also decrease temperatures slightly in Dallas-Fort Worth.
“It should be pretty comfortable for anyone who is out and about, “ Hernandez said.
