We checked in late at night and the service was wonderful - very friendly and informative. We had 2 rooms - they were spacious and looked good. The beds were terribly uncomfortable and the cleanliness of the bathroom floors was below Marriott standards. The lobby is welcoming and has a Starbucks and breakfast which was nice, but I would choose another hotel in the area if we return.

Hello lovenyc210, My name is Mariliz and I am the Asst. General Manager. Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review about your experience with us and thank you for your kind words about our staff and our Bistro onsite! I am so sorry housekeeping was below Marriott standard. I assure you this is not typical of our hotel. I am so sorry you experienced this throughout your stay, we truly hope you stay with us again in the future. If you have any additional information that can help us improve the guest experience for future stays please, feel free to reach me at 716-284-2222.

Our Youth Hockey Team traveled to Niagara to play a tournament at Dwyer Arena. We had the pleasure of staying at Courtyard from 10/7 through 10/11.
Let me start of by saying Ken and his front desk staff were wonderful and accommodating. During the entirety of our stay, I didn’t hear any complaint from our team members about the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The lobby/lounge/eating areas were comfortable. The restaurant was closed however we certainly benefited as we used the tables for our take out meals. The location worked well for us, since it was minutes away from Dwyer arena

We also had a wonderful experience dealing with a Sales Manager by the name of Tia, she assisted us with booking the meeting room for our Team events. Although everything was done through email, she made the process simple & easy.

Tia and Ken thanks for all that you do. This hotel will always be on top of our list when we are traveling to Niagara.

It is Sunday morning, the first day of May and a beautiful morning (at least for now) in Niagara Falls, NY, where we are staying at the Niagara Falls Courtyard. We arrived here last night after a six hour drive from Ann Arbor where we attended the University of Michigan graduation. We chose this hotel in part because it was approximately half way between Ann Arbor and our home in Albany plus it offered an opportunity to see the falls from a vantage point different from the Canadian side, where we typically stay when traveling between Michigan and New York.

Having driven nearly 400 miles and arriving at 10:00 pm, we were very pleased to be welcomed by Chris who checked us in a personable, yet professional manner. Besides giving us our room keys, she gave us a quick overview of the hotel’s amenities, directed us to a luggage cart and then the elevator. This is the third Marriott property that we have stayed in during this trip and Chris’s welcome was by far the best we had received
Also, when I asked about what seemed to be a hint of a chocolate scent in the entry way, she explained that the building used to be a Chocolate Factory. Maybe the gods were at play because I am a big fan of Chocolate

Upon entry into our third floor room, we were first taken aback by its size but then realized that we had been staying in Residence Inns , whose suites are noticeably larger. Having said this, the room was perfect for the two if us, had a king size bed, a couch and sitting area, a desk, and even a small balcony. It was decorated in what I would call semi-modern and everything was clean and the bathroom had plenty of towels, etc. Besides Chocolate, I also am a fan of Marriott pillows and was pleased to see the bed had four pillows plus a backing to sit up against. Our one complaint was the lack of enough coffee packets (only two) and we had to go down to the lobby to purchase two Starbucks coffees which were excellent as was the service we received from Rachel.
We then headed off to the Niagara Falls State Park, which was a relatively easy mile walk away. Overall, on a five point scale, I give the Niagara Falls Courtyard a rating of 4.5

I know this is long, but after checking in, I read some of the earlier reviews and we did not experience any of the problems mentioned in these. I hope that anyone who stays at this hotel has the same positive experience we have had.

The dirtiest room I have ever seen, took many pictures to show front desk!!
These were the worst items …. Mold in bathroom sink and shower drain, long hair on the floor, my husband and I have short hair, dried up residue on the shower shelf from previous occupants, dirt residue in the corners of the room, a fuzzy pill on the floor between the bed and nightstand and a spill outside the slider that had collected dead bugs! Hallway carpets were dirty and stained.
At least the sheets were clean.
1. Complained that our room was not clean on Wednesday night, the front desk staff was very pleasant and cleaning promised on Thursday morning DID NOT happen.
2. Complained that our room was not clean on Thursday night, the front desk staff was very pleasant, cleaning promised again on Friday morning DID NOT happen.
3. Complained that our room was not clean on Friday night, spoke with operations manager this time, showed her the pictures, she again was very pleasant but was speechless and horrified!!! Couldn't apologize enough, offered to take off 1 nights stay which was nice but really not enough!
My husband is in a wheelchair and on Friday night we came back to the hotel and could not park in the handicap spot because the landscapers had dumped a load of bark mulch in that spot! Not only is that a violation it is a total lack of common sense!

Dear R1090KBlynnf, thank you for your review of your experience at our property. We know that your stay with us was a difficult visit due to so many factors, and we offer our sincere apologies for our miscommunications as team while you were with us. We know that it is already difficult to travel during this season, especially when one of your family members is in a wheelchair. We are aware that your experience with us was unacceptable and that you have every reason to be disappointed with the services we failed to provide to you. We also sincerely apologize for the mistake that our landscaper made in leaving the mulch in our parking spot overnight. We are glad that you were able to park in an alternative accessible parking spot in our lot, but sincerely apologize for the unnecessary strain this put on your trip. Please know that this is not the experience we expect for our guests to have at any hotel, and especially at a Marriott property and we are committed to ensuring that we work to improve every day. Thank you again for your candid feedback, we understand that failures in service happen and we use them as opportunities to grow and correct our process every day.

Stayed here three nights at the end of September. The first impression was a foul odor in the entrance way. Maybe the offset two sets of doors are to help prevent the smell from getting into the hotel. My Marriott profile states my preference for a high floor, away from the elevator. When we arrived, we were given a room on the second floor pretty close the elevator. But on the bright side, that elevator didn’t work the entire time we were there. That said, the other elevator was experiencing some kind of circulation issue as was uncomfortably hot. The room was spacious with a high ceiling. At first glance the room appeared clean. However, upon closer inspection the room was far from clean. There was something sticky on the bathroom floor between the toilet and shower. I don’t want to take ay guesses as to what that was. There were spots on the walls in the bathroom. Initially, I thought these were bleached out spots on the wallpaper, but come to find out they easily wiped off. The sink took forever to drain. The worst aspect were the multiple use pump bottles in the shower. Two had product dripping out, and one had product stuck on the bottle and around the base. We never touched these bottles. After years spent on the road, I carry my own soap and shampoo. Although the walls are high, we were, at times, able to hear noise from nearby rooms. We also were able to hear the road outside at all hours of day and night. There is onsite free parking, but there is an abondend building across the street on one side and an open space park on the other. The location is fine with a decent walk to the falls and a shorter walk to the Casino.

Here is the most honest I can get. Niagara Falls US side is sad, old, and a sorry destination for anything more than seeing the falls. This hotel is the best of the best however. The Canadian side is far more vibrant and fun but CLOSED! Marriott has repurposed an old chocolate factory and made it a great hotel. Thank you for doing this, as there seem to be quite a few old crumbling buildings in the area.
With COVID, the hotel cannot find employees but this is true EVERYWHERE in Niagara Falls. The manager who checked us in was awesome and helpful. Things were pretty casual because nothing was open, no breakfast, no bar, and weirdly, no tourists at this hotel. We were lucky that we had our own picnic and cocktails in the car and were welcomed to bring them onto the patio. All by ourselves! I do hope business picks up as well as staff appointments

It's only a mile walk to the falls. We got in to the hotel early (11am) and they were able to check us in early. It is $10 a day for parking. They have no food on site right now because of Covid. They give you a 10% off voucher for a cafe about a half mile away called Spot. We went there for lunch, food was good but service was horrible. Nice hotel, clean, good location.

It appears to be within walking distance of the falls, but it's actually placed a little further than that. I think you're better off driving.

A former chocolate factory and relatively new Courtyard, it still smelled a little bit of chocolate right before you got into the lobby, which I thought was pretty neat.

The hotel itself is nice, but because of COVID it's quite understaffed and the bistro remains closed. We originally booked two nights here, but on the second day we ended up switching hotels.

With limited service, I wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel, at least not right now.

Great location, very big and spacious room. Clean room, comfortable beds, but... the smell(!). Omg, every time we walked onto our room we felt a bit nauseous, a sigh. Almost like a carpet smell in an old casino. I wonder if just the possibility to open a window could fix it, but you cannot open those huge glass windows, no balcony/ any fresh air either. Not a safe stay if you are worried about Covid.

We spend one night at this hotel after driving up from NYC. The staff was always friendly and always greeted me when I walked in or out. The room is a good value for families with its own separate living room area with a TV. The room was clean and we did not experience any issues like the previous posters.

I would question the hotel about it. I was there in January with a youth hockey group. They charged 1 person in our group $20/ day in parking but no one else. No mention of a parking charge on their website. She questioned it and it was removed right away. This new $12.95 charge must be similar. They are a small hotel away from most attractions. They shouldn't be charging that.
