I booked this restaurant knowing it was not “the best” barbecue in Austin, but expecting the view and experience would more than make up for any shortfalls in the food. What I did not expect was truly poor barbecue — tough, almost inedible ribs; utterly...ordinary brisket (I can produce better at home) — and essentially no view. We were stuffed into a dank, windowless plastic tent. Sure, we could leave the tent to see the view, but not while we were eating. The rest of the food was also cafeteria level mediocre. The “famous” up charge bread was like sliced store loaf and it was served with bizarrely sweet butter. The margaritas were so watery you would have to order their 32 ounce “special” to feel any kick, and they had even run out of potato salad … How does that happen at a barbecue restaurant? Even though it was slow the service was disappointing! Jacob did not include bread in our platters even though it called for. He did not come by to check on us, there were only 2 tables seated in our section and the other one had...a different server. Food was great!More

I know none of us want to wait an age for our dinner but this was appeared almost immediately after we ordered. I used to (many years ago) love their Beef Ribs but was so disappointed this time. Brought a friend from out of town that wanted BBQ but had to apologize for it instead. The ribs were dry and tough. My friend said the Margarita was...not good and my Pecan Old Fashioned was okay. More like Whisky Sour than an Old Fashioned but okay though I wound up getting a Shiner Bock, can't ever go wrong with it! I'll never go back for dinner here but will, when the weather is pleasant, go back for drinks outside. They have one of the most pleasant outdoor seating in Austin. BTW service was also bad but our waitress might have been new so I'd give her a pass.More

Not on a lake but Bull Creek instead. 70ft wide with turtles and fish. Food was so so. Sides were limited No choice in BBQ sauce. Food was alright but nothing to write home about. Staff was very friendly. Outside dining is noisy do to...swamp coolers running but thats better than the heat. Pricing is fair. I really wish they gave choices for sides. Dinner came with pinto beans,slaw and potato salad. Would I come here again, for me no. Too many other places to try.More

Great food and service with a nice view. The patio was even heated and we were allowed to have our dog with us on the patio. I don't like onions in my potato salad but the mushrooms were outstanding. Shoutout to Micah for being a...great server.More

This is one of our favorite eating places. However, twice, when ordering curbside, I have been very disappointed. Both times, I texted when I arrived as instructed and received a confirmation text. Finally, after 30 minutes I called because had not received my order. The...total time was 40 minutes from my call-in order. I give up and will go elsewhere for BBQ.More

It’s been 5 years since eating here. I remembered fall off the bone pork ribs. Not anymore. They were so tough I couldn’t bite the meat off. My husband ( vegan) had the veg knob. Too salty to eat. What a disappointment.

This is our favorite restaurant for bbq of all time. The food is plentiful and well prepared. Very consistent, Great service. We always take out of town friends here and love to sit on the covered patio on the lake. Lots of parking and easy...access. It is also a great place for events.More

The County Line had delicious bbq! I had a pork bbq sandwich with cole slaw and baked beans. My husband had turkey. Our friends had beef brisket. It was a busy Friday evening, but the service was still quick and efficient. For dessert we had...blueberry cobbler. It was very delicious. The location is lovely, right on the edge of a little river. There was a wedding going on while we were there. If you want bbq, this is a great place to go!More

Good food (not the best BBQ we had in Austin, but still very good), amazing place (themed if I can consider it like that). Staff was helpful. Too bad we came at night and could not see much from outside.

Honestly the food did not completely disappoint, the sides were good, however it is no wonder I have not been here in 14 years. Simply not worth the wait the drive or the time. The wait staff is snarky and appear to be "put off"...by having to wait tables. We were seated be an emergency exit where everyone and I mean everyone walked through without issue.... Except bumping into our table. The wait staff told everyone it was ok to go through the door.. Forget about the folks seated in the way...just push through. The food- wow if you take an eckrich turkey sausage and boil it, you will have more flavor. The beef rib was tough and chewy and the brisket was good as long as you out sauce on it. The side were just as I remembered - good and tasty, however I am waiting another, wait hold on I will wait 15 years before I forget about this and come back. Scratch this one off your tourist list... it is not worth it. Go to Rudy's, salt lick, franklins, or Richard jones (you know what I mean) and get something worth your effort and money. Better yet go to the outskirts and get real barbque.More
