My time at La Jolla Country Day School has been a journey filled with growth, learning, and a deep sppreciation for the diverse and supportive community that defines this institution. The school's strong emphasis on diversity has been a highlight, where it created a environment for minority people like me to find a safe place by creating clubs that people with different background can relate to. The most memorable part of my experience has been the genuine care and support from my teachers. They've made a huge difference in my life, providing guidance and encouragement every stap of the way. In addition, they go above and beyond to make sure that each student feels motivated and supported, and some of them have really became more than just my teachers. However, no experience is perfect. I do feel that our schol spirit could be improved. A more lively and engaged school spirit would bring us closer together, creating a more unified and enthusiastic student body.
My experience at La Jolla Country Day School has really helped me in becoming super successful in my college career. Thanks to the opportunities I got at LJCDS, I am currently at one of the top 50 universities in the United States. At my current college, there are students from schools that are ranked as the top 10 best on Niche. Hearing about their experiences and the material they learned in high school, LJCDS is no different and even excels in some categories that those schools do not. LJCDS was my home for 13 years and I could not have been happier to attend this school.
I transferred to LJCDS for my junior year of high school from a large public school, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I never knew school could be so inclusive, rigorous, friendly and all round a positive experience. All the students want to excel, help each other and are more than happy to include a new student into the sports, social and classroom life! I have always been on Honor Roll, but here at Country Day it is an expectation, and I am so proud to say that I have achieved High Honor Roll since my very first semester here!
My teachers not only know me as a student, but know about me outside of class; they value me as a volleyball player, a community service organizer and a shy, but fun loving person.
I am thankful to have had the experience at LJCD, as I know I will carry my new found confidence and eagerness to expand my friendships and academic peer groups in college!
