As with most things blizz balance however, the “pure damage” stuff is always way over the top. Last season if you were a 2hander sword using str class, you wanted the sword from KR, irrespective of lack of secondaries - because damage procs are always more highly tuned than anything else.
I mean you can have a class that really really likes haste (like survival hunter), but does stacking the haste proc/more haste from sources come close to adding the dps IS does for ST or TD for AOE? Not a chance.
The stat boosts are in most cases “consolation prizes” for dps classes and pretty much there to provide something for healers. This said, in mythic+ it’s still probably better the healer has a DPS proc because then they contribute more DPS to the run.
All that time/work (if you can call it that) to devise all the different corruptions and predictably, only about 4 of them are actually actively sought, the rest are “make dos” or “avoid at all costs”. And the best ones are surprise surprise, the damage proc ones.
They never should have made them damage procs- or make them conditional procs (Like Meticulous Scheming) so you have to do something to benefit. ATM the best procs are not only the strongest because of raw numbers, they’re also the best because you have to do nothing but mash buttons mindlessly to gain the benefit of their proc. With the stat boosts/more stat gained you either have to try for burst/certain ability cycles during their uptime or actively gear to make them worthwhile. Whilst IS R3 is decent on any class, any spec, in any level of gear so long as they know how to auto attack/spam a single ability, it’s ridiculous.
