Common Law is an American crime drama/comedy series that began airing on the USA Network in May of 2012. The show was created by Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley (credited as The Wibberleys) and produced by CBS Television Studios and Junction Entertainment. Common Law stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as Travis Marks and Wes Mitchell - two Los Angeles detectives who are partners, but most certainly do not fit the "buddy cop" profile - mostly because they cannot stand one another. While Wes is a straight-laced obsessive compulsive, Travis is a loose-cannon who is not above using a little "cowboy justice" to get the job done. Due to an incident that took place between them prior to the start of the series, Travis and Wes are forced to attend couples counseling sessions under the guidance of Doctor Elise Ryan (Sonya Walger). Rounding out the cast is Jack McGee as Captain Mike Sutton, who has undergone his own period of self discovery and encourages Travis and Wes to maintain their commitment towards getting treatment.
