Appears to be another remade Shakespeare manuscript, this time set in a modern fictitious warzone... I have problems with movies done in this manner, it's the dialogue, Shakespearean dialogue in a modern setting gets a big 'WTF?' from me when I first realize it's happening again. Looked like it might have been good had it not been in gibberish. The second half is easier to understand and follow than the first as dialogue becomes less important to conveyance of the narrative.

The Audience reviews show zero understanding: Don't understand the Rome of Plutarch that influenced Shakespeare's image of it; how Shakespeare presented Rome to 5 centuries of students. I loved it, like I loved Titus with Anthony Hopkins. Like this they decided to go with modern imagery, of a fascist military monarchy. Machine guns and tanks along with shields and swords. That's a must see. Didn't get as highly rated as this one. That one is a gorey mess. Ralph Fienes keeps things highbrow. I can't stand audience reviews, y'all love Marvel and blockbusters and cant stand anything that breaks the mold. This one is still loaded with violence but it aint enough, need lasers.

Really interesting interpretation of Shakespeare's Coriolanus! Good performances by everyone, but I was especially surprised by Butler. Normally I can't stand his movies, but he actually acted in this film. Worth watching once

It's not an easy task to bring Shakespeare to life in a modern setting. I think they nailed this one. Ralph Fiennes delivered an amazing performance. Probably not for the casual fan, but I think people that love Shakespeare will love this film, as I did.
