A Look Inside Corey Feldman And Corey Haim's Relationship

In the 1980s, Corey Feldman and Corey Haim were two of the most beloved teen stars on the planet. The two were not only best friends, but they also starred in many fan-favorite films together. Known in Hollywood as "The Two Coreys," Feldman and Haim rose to fame with roles in movies such as "The Lost Boys," "Dream a Little Dream," "License to Drive," and more, per Heavy. In addition, Feldman also appeared in the "Friday The 13th" franchise, as well as cult classics such as "Stand By Me," "The 'Burbs," "Gremlins," and "The Goonies" (via IMDb). For his part, Haim starred in films like "Lucas," "Murphy's Romance," "Silver Bullet," and "Firstborn" (via IMDb).
The Two Coreys were on top of the world when it came to their careers, and were an unlikely pair. Despite having the same first name, Feldman and Haim came from very different backgrounds. Feldman was raised in Los Angeles, while Haim came from Ontario, Canada, per E! Online. They became friends while working together, and never looked back. "Yes, we keep each other laughing and that's the important thing in life, I think, to always be able to laugh," Feldman said of his friendship with Haim during a 2007 interview with Larry King.
While the '80s were a decade of success for The Two Coreys, the '90s brought about some hard times for the actors.
Feldman and Haim struggled with their friendship as adults
According to E! Online, Corey Feldman and Corey Haim didn't enjoy the same career success in the '90s as they did in the '80s. They began doing low-budget films, some of which went straight to video. Shortly after, both actors decided to take a break, and according to Feldman, each "fell into hard times." In 1990, Feldman was arrested twice for possession of heroin. Haim also struggled with substance abuse. "I think I have an addiction to pretty much everything," he told Larry King. "I mean, I have to be very careful with myself as far as that goes, which is why I have a support group around me consistently."
In 2007, Feldman and Haim made headlines when they announced they would be starring in a reality TV series titled "The Two Coreys." The show featured the actors working on their friendship and dealing with some issues of the past, per People. The show later ended up highlighting Haim's troubles with sobriety, as well as both men's history of sexual abuse in Hollywood. When Haim relapsed on drugs, Feldman decided to cut ties with his lifelong friend. "As a friend and somebody that cares deeply about the guy, I am not going to watch him destroy himself," he said at the time.
Sadly, just two years later tragedy struck when news broke that Haim had died.

Corey Haim tragically died in 2010
According to People, Corey Haim died in 2010 at the age of 38. The actor had allegedly been taking many pills such as Valium, Vicodin, and Xanax. However, his official cause of death was ruled to be pneumonia (via CNN). Haim's manager Mark Heaslip revealed that the actor had been "making major progress" in his addiction before his death.
Following Haim's death, Corey Feldman published an open letter to his friend. "I miss you so much already," he wrote (via New York Daily News). "When I think of something funny I don't know who to tell it to. I find myself trying to call you but then remember you're not there. I think about the new movies we will soon be doing together and then suddenly realize that the dream is over."
In 2013, Feldman wrote a memoir, in which he opened up about the sexual abuse that he and Haim both suffered as young actors in Hollywood, per People. In 2017, Feldman filed police reports but the statute of limitations had expired. Feldman still hasn't publicly named his abusers and says that he often stays quiet to protect Haim's mother from heartache. The Two Coreys may have taken hard roads in their lives, but their work and fan-favorite films of the 1980s will live on forever in pop culture history.
