We’ve all seen a Disney classic or two, but did you know that Disney has produced 60 animated movies so far? And lucky for us, they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. But while we wait for that next release, it can be fun to revisit old classics or discover your new favorite Disney movie!

Below you can find a list of all 60 Disney animated movies in order. I’ve also included a short description, but made sure to keep it spoiler free! So if you’re looking for your next Disney watch, pick one from the list and dive right in!

Disney animated movies in order. Number 1: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1937

Snow White gets exiled by her stepmother, the Evil Queen, who wants her killed. Then Snow White gets lost in the woods and is saved by 7 dwarfs.

2. Pinocchio, 1940

Pinocchio, a wooden marionette, has to prove that he is worthy of becoming a real boy. He’s helped by a cricket who acts as his conscience.

3. Fantasia, 1940

An animated classic that mixes Disney’s animations with classical western music.

4. Dumbo, 1941

Dumbo is born with unusually large ears. He’s bullied for it, but learns to reach his full potential. Worried about the racist undertones of this movie? Check out why I let my kids watch it

5. Bambi, 1942

Bambi, a young fawn, is chosen to become the next prince of the forest. Follow along as he learns about friendship and life.

6. Saludos Amigos, 1943

A live action walkthrough of the Disney animation studios, followed by a series of shorts set in South America featuring familiar and new characters.

7. The Three Caballeros, 1945

Donald Duck goes on an adventure across Latin America with two brand new friends.

8. Make Mine Music, 1946

A compilation of 10 shorts with music from different talented musicians from the 1940s.

9. Fun and Fancy Free, 1947

Two stories that follow Disney characters and their friends while they are enjoying their freedom during some exciting adventures.

10. Melody Time, 1948

Shorts set to music from the 1940s.

11. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, 1949

This movie contains two animated stories based on classic literature and follow Mr. Toad and Ichabod Crane.

12. Cinderella, 1950

Cinderella is left with her cruel stepmother and stepsisters after her father passes. She is not allowed to attend the Royal Ball, but gets special help from her Fairy Godmother.

13. Alice in Wonderland, 1951

A little girl called Alice follows a rabbit in a waistcoat down a rabbit hole and discovers a whole new world.

14. Peter Pan, 1953

The Darling children meet a boy that never grows up and they follow him to Never Land where they meet his friends and foes.

15. Lady and the Tramp, 1955

Lady, a dog from a wealthy home, feels neglected after her owners have a baby. After being blamed for various things, she runs away, meets a scruffy stray and they fall in love.

16. Sleeping Beauty, 1959

A disgruntled witch curses a newborn princess so she will die on her 16th birthday, after the witch was not invited to the christening. A fairy alters the curse, so the princess goes into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday instead that can only be broken by true love’s kiss.

17. One Hundred and One Dalmatians, 1961

An evil heiress called Cruella de Vil wants to make a fur coat out of the skins of Dalmatian puppies. She attempts to kidnap 101 Dalmatians to do so.

18. The Sword in the Stone, 1963

A talented wizard called Merlin uses his magical powers to help a young boy, Arthur, realize his full potential and make him into a legendary her

19. The Jungle Book, 1967

Mowgli, a young boy, is left behind and raised by wolves. When a man-eating tiger shows up in their area, his animal family encourages him to leave the jungle and move to the human village to save his life.

20. The Aristocats, 1970

A retired Parisian lady leaves her entire inheritance to her four cats. Her butler kidnaps the cats to get to the fortune, but a legion of retired army dogs and a stray cat come to their rescue.

21. Robin Hood, 1973

An outlaw named Robin Hood forms a gang to steal from the rich and give to the poor.

22. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, 1977

Join Winnie the Pooh and his friends on their adventures through the Hundred Acre Woods..

23. The Rescuers, 1977

Two mice from the Rescue Aid Society called Bernard and Miss Bianca go on an adventure to rescue Penny, an orphan girl kidnapped by an evil woman looking for a diamond.

24. The Fox and the Hound, 1981

A fox and a hound grow up together and become best friends. When the hound grows into a hunting dog, their friendship is under threat.

25. The Black Cauldron, 1985

Taran and his friends go on a quest to find a black cauldron with magical powers. They must face many challenges, including the evil Horned King.

26. The Great Mouse Detective, 1986

Basil, a detective, takes the case of a kidnapped toymaker after he realizes that the kidnapper is his nemesis, Professor Ratigan.

27. Oliver & Company, 1988

Oliver, an abandoned kitten, wanders the streets of New York hoping for someone to adopt him. Instead, he meets various characters along the way before he gets adopted by a rich girl named Jenny. Oliver gets kidnapped and Jenny must get him back.

28. The Little Mermaid, 1989

A young mermaid named Ariel makes a deal with a sea witch so she can live on land and loses her voice in exchange for legs and goes to search for the human prince she fell in love with.

29. The Rescuers Down Under, 1990

A boy frees a rare eagle from a poacher’s trap and is kidnapped. Local animals call the Rescue Aid Society in New York, so Bernard and Miss Bianca head to Australia to help free the boy.

30. Beauty and the Beast, 1991

Belle’s father gets abducted by the Beast. She agrees to live with the Beast in exchange for her father’s freedom, and discovers there is more to the Beast than she thought.

31. Aladdin, 1992

Aladdin, a commoner and thief, falls in love with Princess Jasmine but can’t marry her due to their difference in status. Jafar, an evil royal vizier, tells Aladdin he can help him if he can retrieve a magic lamp for him.

32. The Lion King, 1994

Simba’s father is murdered when he is just a cub, and he’s forced to leave the Pride Lands. He goes back to return his lands when he is all grown up with some new friends in tow.

33. Pocahontas, 1995

Pocahontas is a Native American who falls in love with Captain John Smith. Meanwhile, her father, Chief Powhatan, wants her to marry a native warrior and Smith’s companions are planning on robbing the Native Americans of their gold. Will their love survive?

34. The Hunchback of Notre Dame, 1996

The bell-ringer of the Notre Dame, Quasimodo, longs to explore the outside world, but he is not allowed out according to his foster father Claude Frollo due to his deformity.

35. Hercules,1997

When Hercules is young, Hades strips him of his immortality and makes him live with mortals. Hercules discovers he’s a half-god and goes on a quest to become a true hero in order to regain his immortality so he can rejoin his parents on Mount Olympus.

36. Mulan, 1998

A young girl disguises herself as a man and joins the army in her elderly father’s place to save their country from the invading Huns.

37. Tarzan, 1999

A boy is raised by gorillas and only encounters humans as an adult. He must learn to be human and make a decision on where he truly belongs.

38. Fantasia 2000, 1999

Just like the original Fantasia, this sequel is an anthology musical film put together by talented Disney artists and storytellers. Celebrity hosts introduce each segment.

39. Dinosaur, 2000

An orphan dinosaur is taken in by a family of lemurs. When their home gets destroyed by meteors, they and other herbivores have to find a new site with enough food.

40. The Emperor’s New Groove, 2000

A spoiled emperor named Kuzco gets turned into a llama by his advisor who wants to steal his throne. Kuzco ends up in the jungle and has to rely on the help of a friendly peasant to reclaim his throne.

41. Atlantis: The Lost Empire, 2001

A young adventurer joins a group of explorers to find the lost civilization of Atlantis. Things do not go as planned.

42. Lilo & Stitch, 2002

Stitch, an extraterrestrial entity, flees to Earth after escaping from prison and pretends to be a dog. A little girl named Lilo adopts him from a shelter.

43. Treasure Planet, 2002

A young Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a map that leads to the greatest pirate treasure in the universe. He joins a family friend on an expedition to this faraway planet, but the cabin crew has a different plan.

44. Brother Bear, 2003

Kenai’s brother gets killed by a bear. He kills the bear out of revenge but gets transformed into a bear himself out of punishment. Follow along as he tries to find a way out.

45. Home on the Range, 2004

A notorious outlaw wants to take over a farm after the owner can no longer pay their bills, but the resident animals refuse to let this happen and hunt the outlaw instead.

46. Chicken Little, 2005

Chicken Little and his friends set out to save the world after a piece of the sky falls on his head.

47. Meet the Robinsons, 2007

A young inventor wants to create a time machine to find his mother, who abandoned him. He then meets Wilbur Robinson and his family, and things take a turn.

48. Bolt, 2008

Bolt believes he has superpowers after living his whole life on the set of an action TV show. When he is accidentally removed from the studio, he has to find his way back and learns he does not actually have superpowers.

49. The Princess and the Frog, 2009

Tiana, a young waitress, wants to open her own restaurant, but transforms into a frog after kissing a prince who was turned into a frog by an evil witch doctor. They go on an adventure together to turn back into humans.

50. Tangled, 2010

Rapunzel was locked in a tower for her magical hair. After a thief stumbles upon her tower, he helps her out and they go on an adventure together. This movie made me re-do my top 10 Disney movies.

51. Winnie the Pooh, 2011

Winnie the Pooh runs out of honey, Eeyore has lost his tail and Christopher Robin has been kidnapped by Backson. Can the Hundred Acre Wood gang figure this out?

52. Wreck-It Ralph, 2012

Ralph is tired of being the bad guy and leaves his game to win a medal to prove he can be a hero. His actions almost destroy the entire arcade.

53. Frozen, 2013

Anna goes on a journey to find her sister, Elsa, after she fled the kingdom because she couldn’t control her magical powers that allow her to freeze anything.

54. Big Hero 6, 2014

After his brother’s death in an explosion at the university, Hiro learns that it wasn’t an accident. He teams up with Baymax, his late brother’s healthcare provider robot, and his late brother’s friends to stop the evil mastermind behind the explosion.

55. Zootopia, 2016

Judy Hopps, the first bunny officer in the Zootopia Police Department, finds a sinister plot and teams up with a con artist to solve the case. Read what my 5-year-old thought of Zootopia here.

56. Moana, 2016

57. Ralph Breaks the Internet, 2018

58. Frozen II, 2019

Queen Elsa follows the call of a mysterious voice and awakens the elemental spirits. She goes on a quest to restore an old injustice and set things right. Learn if Frozen II is scary for kids here and what my kids thought here.

Disney animated movies in order: Raya and the Last Dragon

59. Raya and the Last Dragon, 2021

When the gem that was keeping the Druun at bay breaks and is spread all over the world, Raya must find Sisu, the last dragon, to save the world and banish the Druun for good. Check out my review of Raya and the Last Dragon here.

60. Encanto, 2021

61. Strange World, 2022

62. Wish, 2023

That was quite the list! And Disney isn’t done just yet, not even close. We have a movie called Wish is slated for later this year. And while live action movies might be my kids’ favorite, I’ll always have a soft spot for animated Disney movies.

    Aladdin 3 King of thieves in 1995.

      Those are sequels that were direct to DVD, not made my Walt Disney Animation Studios. But we will make a sequels list too!
