Hi:

HP retires support for all consumer products that have reached 10 years of age.

If you let me know what drivers you need, I'll see if I can find them from a comparable HP business-class notebook.

Provide the device description and the hardware ID for each device that needs a driver.

Use this guide to find that information.

Paul,

Thanks for your fast answer but is not what I am looking for. I am trying to get the information that came with the laptop, for example the touchpad (Synaptics) is working but I am missing the red icon on the toolbar and the functionality to use the right side to scroll, this will be solved once the manufacturer software is installed. I've looked into synaptics webpage but they dont provide drivers or software, so I am at HP  will.

Thanks for your help!

Paul, thanks again for your help. The link provided solved the issue.

An additional question, the wifi is off by default. I do need to press the "blue button"next to the power to enable the board and be able to connect to my network every time that the laptop is restarted or comes from sleep. There is any way to enable it by default? I've looked into BIOS but coudln't find any option to do this.

Laptop model is a CQ60-202US

Thanks!

Dario.

You're very welcome, Dario.

The wifi should always be on unless you turn it off.

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have, and what is the driver version and date?

I'll see if there is an updated wifi driver for it.

Sometimes updating the drivers have fixes for odd ball things like that.

Paul,

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have

Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g Wifi Adapter

what is the driver version and date?

8.0.0.316 and 3/2/2010

Doing the update driver online doesn't get any newer.

If you need more information, please let me know.

Again, thanks for your help

You're very welcome.

There is a newer driver than that one.

I'm kind of surprised it is even connecting to the internet if you have WPA2 security enabled on your router.

Here is the last update for that model wifi card.  Hopefully it will take care of the problem you are having.

If not, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

Paul, thanks for the solutions provided but it didn't work.

I looked into internet and found:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00480897

I've tried to reset BIOS with same results, so, found this alternative:

https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Turn-Wifi-OnOff-Using-Command-Prompt/

So besides that I am still able to press the button, will create a .bat on startup to execute the code and turn on the adapter...fingers crossed😎

HP Recommended

Disable Code

wmic path win32_networkadapter where index=11 call disable

Enable Code

wmic path win32_networkadapter where index=11 call enable

You need to find which is your adapter, in my case was #11.

Again thanks for your help !
