Emily Symons, 52, could have passed for a woman a decade younger as she arrived for the TV Week Logie Awards on the Gold Coast (pictured)
'I thought I had lost out on the opportunity of the role because I wasn't going to be able to be in the room. I was devastated,' she said.
But days later she was told she has the role - via a FaceTime call with her agents - which left her 'beyond excited'.
The announcement comes after Emily Symons, who has played Marilyn Chambers on Home and Away on and off for 30 years, looked ageless at the Logie Awards on the Gold Coast.
The Aussie actress drew attention to her youthful complexion and trim physique as she posed on the red carpet in a slinky white Silvana Tedesco frock.
Emily (pictured with her co-stars) told Who magazine in 2019 she got into the best shape of her life by eliminating sugar and alcohol and including weight training in her fitness regimen
She boosted her height with silver strappy heels and added touches of bling in the form of a statement ring and drop earrings.
The mother of one styled her wavy blonde tresses out, and enhanced her blemish-free complexion with glamorous makeup.
Kohl-lined eyes, lashings of mascara, bronzer on her defined cheekbones and a slick of glossy nude lipstick finished off the red carpet look.
