My heartfelt condolences are offered to the family, many, many friends, colleagues and devoted army fans of Mr. Charlie Thomas. Mr. Charlie Thomas was a tenor singer with the Drifters, known for doo-wop hits including “Under the Boardwalk” and “Sweets for My Sweet.” Mr. Charlie Thomas was a singer of the 1950s and ‘60s with songs as “Please Stay,” and their only No. 1 hit on the Top 40, “Save the Last Dance for Me.” He was a very great tenor singer with an amazing voice. He was greatly admired by his fellow artists and all those who knew him. May the love and many, many special memories you shared with your devoted loved one show how much your life was touched by him. May the God of comfort bless your grieving hearts with strength, loving kindness and peace as the world copes with the loss of Mr. Charlie Thomas. May his music and legacy keep his memory alive forever.

We are saddened to learn that Mr. Charlie Thomas, has passed away and we send our heartfelt condolences to you during this difficult time. He will be missed and never forgotten, and his musical legacy will live on.

We are thankful he shared his musical talents with us. Thank you, Sir, for the memories. I remember when I was a younger person growing up in the 1960s, I loved listening to the Drifters music, and I still love listening to their songs such as “Under the Boardwalk,” “Up on the Roof,” “Please Stay,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “Sweets for My Sweet” (Sugar for my Honey) and “When My Little Girl Is Smiling,” “On Broadway,” and “Save the Last Dance for Me.” There were so many to enjoy. Thank you, Mr. Thomas, for the melodious music you helped created with The Drifters. You all were a most influential rhythm and blues and doo-wop group of the time. Thank you for sharing your musical talents with us. Your legacy continues.

To the family of Charlie Thomas. I was a little girl living with aunts and uncles who were teenagers during this era. What a privilege it’s been to be exposed to the talent of the Drifters. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. May God comfort you during this most difficult time of grief.

Once again the world has lost another music legend. My husband was a Doo Wop music buff who truly loved and enjoyed that era of music. He introduced me to the music of the Drifters, the Spaniels, Stormy Weather and so many other artists that came along during a time when crooner music was phenomenal. This Magic Moment, Up on the Roof, There Goes My Baby are just few of the Drifters Doo Wop classics that will be apart of music history for all eternity. Charlie Thomas was a great entertainer with a smooth and distinguished voice that you could enjoy listening too at any given time. He will truly be missed by all.

Charlie was a true icon of the DooWop Era. A fantastic singer, showman, and entertainer. Saw Charlie perform more than 20 times over the years. They just don’t make them like him anymore. RIP.

Truly enjoyed his music growing up. We pray that God continues to strengthen and comfort the family during this difficult time.

Goodbye Charlie. Saw you at a concert at UNH in new hampshire many years ago. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the memories and may you RIP. God Bless the family.

I met Charlie Thomas at East Potomac Golf Course over 20 years ago. What a wonderful kind and thoughtful person. We played a lot of golf - both 9 and 18 holes. Charlie Thomas was a true friend. It was a joy to be in his presence. I looked forward to our rounds of golf and conversing about the Drifters. Sometimes he would hum in his cheerful tone The Drifter Songs during a round of golf. My prayers go out to the Thomas family may God's blessings shine upon all.

Uncle Charlie, I will miss you so much. Your smile, your voice and your presence. I am thankful for the many memories I have with you. Thank you for sharing your light with the world. I love you.

I love all of the Drifter’s music. What a sound that I still listen to today. A sad day that one of the persons that created that sound is no longer with us. We still can appreciate the music he leaves us.

This was when music was really great! Singing with meaning and music that you could dance too. I have many memories and saw the drifters in concert when they came through Ohio many times. When God created Charlies and the Drifters he sent us a great human and humble human being

Myself and my wife walked thru the mall in Heritage Penna with Charlie
when he was looking to buy a T shirt, we loved this man and his music,
after attending the Vocal group induction, the groups headed to the mall
to sign autographs and talk to everyone. I have several pictures of us
together and several signed shirts from Charlie and all of the groups
involved. You will be missed and always in our hearts.

Aww Charlie sweet guy I met him with Don Thomas who also was a Drifter in the 1980’s. R.I.P. Charlie! Thanks for your legendary music! I I had fun on ya’ll gigs!

Charlie was a friend of ours for 40 years. He never let his fame stand in the way of his friendship. When he was on stage he always thanked us for coming and have us stand. It was a pleasure to just talk and laugh with him. Charlie and his wife Rita welcomed us in their home with warmth and love. His friendship and the time we spent together will truly be missed . Our condolences and love go to Rita, and the rest of his family
