Heavy rain and thunderstorms swept their way through North Alabama this morning, and Northeast Alabama is contending with round after round of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Some storms may again be severe Thursday: strong wind gusts capable of breaking branches, causing power outages, and flipping trampolines being the primary ‘threat’ for North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.

Across Northwest and Central Alabama, rain chances will remain more limited, though another broken of line of thunderstorms cannot be ruled out through the evening hours.

Any storms that develop will also bring the risk of lightning and some heavy rainfall.
