Horrible Christmas light display. Not very many lights and not very long.. foor 30$ I feel it was not worth my time. Pretty boring. Alot lights burned out too
Seasons Greetings!
Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of Christmas at Clay's light show. The $30 was a carload price for up to 8 people. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the show. Clay's Park is the venue for the event, so we will provide your review to the event producer. Thank you
Went there to see their Christmas lights and display. $30 a car. Extremely lame and many lights were burnt out. Absolutely not worth the money. Don't waste your time.
BCHBUNY1980,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of Christmas at Clay's light show. We are sorry that you were disappointed. The cost of $30 per carload is for up to 8 people, so it is less that $4 per person with the maximum number of people. The event also includes the "North Pole Experience" with Characters, Live Music, Live Reindeer and Santa on select dates. We will be sure to forward your comments to the show producers who host their event at Clay's Park. Thanks again for comments.
The festival is minus many vendors this year and the quality of vendors is at an all time low. Hope YP promoters can reverse the tide. Very sad.
Dear Lojokes2,
Thank you for your review of the Yankee Peddler Festival. Although this festival is held at Clay's Park Resort, it is not a festival that the park produces. We have forwarded your comments to the YP Festival producers. For those reading this review, the Yankee Peddler Festival just celebrated it's 47th year at Clay's Park the three weekends in September. The festival is a step back in time over 200 years to pioneer America. It offers authentic arts, crafts and food cooked over open fires just as would have been done 200+ years ago. It is entertainment for the enire family.
What a fun water park on the lake for a group of friends hanging out with their pals! They have water slides, zip lines, and ring swings. There is nothing like Clay's Park near our home in Illinois. My son could not stop talking about how much fun he had.
Dear 89ingridw,
Thank you so much for your review on Trip Advisor and for providing your feedback. We are happy that you, your family and your friends enjoyed hanging our together at our water park! We also appreciate knowing that your son could not stop talking about how much fun he had. Please come back and visit us in 2020! We'd love to have you back again!!
I booked willow flats #10 after learning my mistake last year with #11 flooding when it rains. All though it did rain hard this year and trees fell this time with one taking out my tent but thankfully I was able to set it back up and nothing was ripped. They make you buy their own wood which I bought a total of 8 bundles all soaked making it almost impossible to cookout. I wish they would have one central location with all the wood in a barn to keep it dry. Not just out in the open getting rained on. We went to the indoor pool on Monday and had very strong chlorine smell. Figure it was because of all the campers over the weekend. Good breakfast food at JohnOs. Never went to swimming lake this year because of having to wear lifejackets just to swim. Glad they have power and running water now at almost every site. Bathroom can use an upgrade. Very low water pressure for showers I was the only one taking a shower at the time. Mold in the shower but the exhaust fan is way to small for that many showers in there. I come back every year for my birthday and of course I will be back next year
Thank you, William B, for your feedback and that you come to Clay's every year for your birthday! We are sorry you camped with us during one of the worst storms we had all summer and are very thankful that you were safe. We have passed your concerns about wet firewood and bathrooms to the appropriate departments so that they are aware and can make improvements for the future.
Can't swim without a life jacket unless you are in the kiddie area, even adults. Can't use a metal detector, God knows they are dangerous. Can't drive more than 100 feet without being stopped and being asked where you are going. Cops everywhere.
Thank you for your feedback arcman033. We do have two areas of the swimming lake wake where life jackets are not required. We do require them in the deep waters, boats and areas where there are attractions. This is for our patron's safety. Use of metal detectors when the park is occupied with guests is strictly prohibited. The reason for the stops as you are driving in is the fact that we have parking attendants who are trying to determine where you are going so that they may assist with directions. With a large campground, water park, picnic shelters, etc., people are heading in many different directions and frequently need guidance so that they do not end up confused as to where to go. It is simply a customer service that we provide. During our busy times with many patrons and guests, we do have park security and occasionally local police help with keeping everyone safe.
