I bought about 11 pairs of the Clarks Appley the style with all the straps. Firstly I was trying to determine my size. Once I found a pair of the strappy shoes that fit (ugh it was the British tan) I thought enough is enough since I had to return some in Navy and some in black that were defective AND I returned all of the 10 pairs because sizing has changed.

I believe with the Appley line, Clarks is moving upward to a better made shoe in competition with shoes closer in price to $129 and up.

Congratulations must be given Clarks for working so hard to combine style, grace, comfort and durability.

ALAS I came back for me and bought this shoe which may just be perfect. YES. It is a Mary Jane style, the favorite style of women over 60, which is my demographic. These shoes look great with jeans and paired with socks. HAPPILY these Mary Jane's are great just barefoot without socks.

I have a black pair like this that I just love. They are so comfortable and the style is suitable for almost any type of clothing, so I was excited to find this taupe pair. Unfortunately, where the seams overlap on the front of the shoe, there seems to be some excess that digs into my foot. Hoping to find a solution.
