$5.1M from new Ann Arbor affordable housing tax could go toward downtown high-rise

ANN ARBOR, MI — The Ann Arbor Housing Commission proposes using $5.1 million from a new affordable housing tax over the next two years toward building an 18-story high-rise on a downtown city-owned property.

The long-envisioned project on the old Y Lot — a public parking lot next to the Blake Transit Center at 350 S. Fifth Ave. — could include over 400 housing units, Housing Commission Executive Director Jennifer Hall told City Council.
