“You’re gonna have to have mass deportations,” President Trump told Alpha News ahead of his visit to Minnesota Friday.
In an interview with Alpha News reporter Liz Collin, former President Donald Trump discussed the 2024 presidential election in Minnesota, law enforcement, and Rep. Ilhan Omar. Additionally, the 45th president told Alpha News that mass deportations would be necessary to handle the ongoing illegal immigration crisis.
“You’re gonna have to have mass deportations,” President Trump told Collin. “The country can’t stand it. The country can’t handle it. And sanctuary cities are basically, it’s sanctuary for criminals because they’re coming in at levels and they go right into these sanctuary cities and they’re protected.”
In Minnesota, Democratic lawmakers have attempted to make Minnesota a so-called sanctuary state.
Referring to illegal immigrants, the 45th president said, “And they can be murderers from other countries. They come out of jails and they come out of mental institutions. And then they go into a sanctuary city and you can’t do what you have to do. It’s a very, very sad situation, and very sad what’s happened to your state. Your state is out of control and it’s this radical left philosophy that cannot be allowed to continue. If it does, the country is just not going to be a country anymore.”
In the interview, Collin noted that then-candidate Trump was less than two points away from winning the state of Minnesota in the 2016 presidential election, but no Republican has won a statewide election in Minnesota since 2006.
“In recent years, the quiet sanctuary of his street, with residents who are registered Republicans and Democrats, has tensed with conflict, neighbors said. Around the 2020 election, a family on the block displayed an anti-Trump sign with an expletive. I should have been aware of the pardon process, but wasn’t following the developments closely. I’m glad that the commission recommended a pardon and that the Governor followed thru.
