Christopher Timothy is reunited with All Creatures Great and Small co-stars as the cast of hit '80s show celebrate James Herriot's centenary in Yorkshire

They brought to life the endearing memoirs of one of the country's most-beloved characters in the hit series All Creature Great and Small.
And to mark James Herriot's 100th birthday, the cast of the BBC's hit-series reunited at a dinner in Leyburn, Yorkshire.
After finishing its run in 1990, Christopher Timothy, Robert Hardy, Peter Davidson and Carol Drinkwater were reunited after 26 years, on Saturday evening.

Attending the black tie gala, held by The World of James Herriot at The Graden Rooms at Tennants, the cast came together to celebrate the life of the famous vet.
In the programme, based on the memoirs of Herriot (real-name Alf Wight), Christopher, 75, took on the role of the young vet living in the Yorkshire Dales.
Arriving at the practice of of Siegfried Farnon (Hardy, 90), who runs the business with his mischievous brother Tristan (Davidson, 65), James encounters numerous adventures.
While a number of the mishaps, jaunts and hilarious stories were caused by animals, it was equally the Farnon brothers who enlivened Herriot's life in the TV show.

Carol, 68, rounded off the main-stay cast by taking on the role of Herriot's wife, Helen.
At its peak the show managed to attract 18million viewers, making James Herriot and Christopher massive stars both in their own right.
As well as the four original cast members, Lesley Garrett and BBC Look North Presenter Harry Gration were other stars attending the celebration.

The People reports that Christopher recalled some of the more stressful moments on set at the dinner on Saturday night - in particular one funny moment involving Boris the cat.
'A cat called Boris was infamous in the books,' he explained. 'The cat who played him in the show used to get very stressed. One day it bit my finger.
'I’ve never known pain like it. I said the f-word. Fortunately an actress’s head was in the way when I said it and they were able to lose it.
