Christmas Tree

Cadence is important
in poetry and life
waves lap in the  morning
between warm beds and ice.

Rain upon the windows
kisses on the cheek
memories arriving
lovers when they meet.

So let there be soft rhyming
sleep parting so slow
breezes in the morning
waves and gentle snow.

Grandma in her nightgown
parents still asleep
breakfast in the cottage
in woods nearby the sea.

Grandpa in his element
looking for a tree
startled when the dawn awoke
hungry chickadees.

Down upon his knees now
can't complete the task
humble little tree provides
pine cone medicine.

Trudging back to grandma
looking not a word
children disappointed
parents haven't stirred.

Just a perfect Christmas
everyone agrees
especially the children
someday remembering.

Hello Kitty Christmas Tree

Such a pretty decorative Christmas tree to me
Is the one who instead of being topped by a star
is topped by a Hello Kitty.
Such pretty varying shades of pink
Even pinkish lights that blink
This tree can be enjoyed by adults too
But rather for 3 little girls named Betty, Jean and Sue.
Since all three love Hello Kitty so much
I guess Santa got their letter and got in touch
with the Christmas fairy to help him decorate
Doing up this special Hello Kitty Christmas
tree to celebrate.
Any day of the week and month of the year
This Hello Kitty Christmas tree always brings
pinkish hugs and kisses and lots of good cheer!
