Inside the lavish life of Australian tennis legend Ash Barty who's about to build a mega-mansion in Brisbane – ahead of her WHOPPING Australian Open payday

  • Barty, 25, has net worth of at least $21.6 million from on-court career earnings
  • She will take home a further $2.875 million from winning the Australian Open
  • The junior prodigy walked away from sport in 2014 then returned two years later
  • Won 2019 French Open and Wimbledon last year, Barty is now the world No.1

Australia's sporting queen Ash Barty is living a lavish lifestyle most can only dream about.

Her success swinging a tennis racquet has seen her net worth rise to a staggering $21.6million - a figure which will further increase after her Australian Open final win against American underdog Danielle Collins.

The women's singles champion will take home a jaw-dropping $2.875 million, with Collins receiving a cool $1.575 million.

Barty, 25, who has endorsement deals with the likes of Jaguar, Vegemite, Fila, Rado and Uber Eats, is engaged to golfer Garry Kissick.

The 2021 Wimbledon champion recently revealed the couple are planning to build a mansion in Brisbane's west at Brookwater, having bought a vacant block for $882,000 late last year.

Brookwater is a residential community in Brisbane's west, and features the Greg Norman-designed Brookwater Golf Course.

Daily Mail Australia understands Barty has been staying at the home next to the land she purchased while her home is being built.

In a video released by Brookwater Residential, Barty shared how she had been working with architects to prioritise outside space.

Barty grew up in the region and said in the video she 'couldn't imagine living anywhere else when not travelling the world'.

'You can hear the birds in the morning. You can see the sun rise. It's just all those little things that make a home a home,' Barty said.

'I love how low-key the lifestyle is here at Brookwater. That's where I see myself forever.'

According to Forbes Money List for highest-paid female athletes, Barty came in at number eight last year in terms of earnings.

She snared $3.9 million on court, mainly after winning at the All England Club last July, but also managed to collect a cool $3 million away from the court from endorsement deals.

Fellow tennis stars Naomi Osaka ($57.3 million), Serena Williams ($45.9 million) and Venus Williams ($11.3 million) were the top three highest paid female athletes globally in 2021.

In November last year, Barty was the envy of her Instagram followers after posting a photo inside a Jaguar luxury car.

Looking the part by sporting a designer watch and sunglasses, the two-time Grand Slam winner wrote an accompanying message 'Day 1 of pre-season... Still deciding if I want to get out of the car.'

Barty's path to the final at Melbourne Park the past couple of weeks has been impressive.

She has not dropped a set and has lost just 21 games in six matches.

'It's unreal. It's just incredible,' Barty said about reaching her first Australian Open final following a 6-1 6-3 dismissal of American Madison Keys in Thursday's semi-final.

When it's show time, the Richmond Tigers AFL tragic combines an explosive power game with a finesse few others can match on court.

She has blitzed her opponents at Melbourne Park on her terms, not theirs.

Her backhand slice is arguably her biggest weapon - and her consistent performances the past couple of years have also silenced a few well known doubters.

In 2019, soon after becoming world number one for the first time after winning the French Open, US superstar Serena Williams arrogantly and dismissively labelled Barty 'cute.'

It was a brutal sledge, with the perception on tour at the time in the eyes of many the Aussie didn't deserve the accolade.

Barty is the first Australian to progress through to the Australian Open women's singles final since Wendy Turnbull in 1980.

If she wins on Rod Laver Arena, the top seed will be the first homegrown player to do so since Chris O'Neil in 1978.

Not bad for a girl who walked away from the sport disillusioned in 2014 to have a crack at professional cricket before returning to the court two years later with no guarantees.

Barty's quest for a maiden Australian Open title begins at 7.30pm tonight (AEST) followed by the all-Aussie men's doubles final featuring Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis against Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell.
