330 Healthy School Promotion and Education Program (start from 2015)

  • "330 Wellness School” is a comprehensive mental health education project especially for students meaningful activities and workshops promoting the importance of mental wellness and the positive psychology will be delivered in schools.
  • Objectives
    • To enhance the mental health knowledge in order to reduce the misunderstanding from the Person-In-Recovery (PIR).
    • To promote Positive Psychology and learning its different elements such as hope, gratitude, in order to strengthen personal mental wellness.
  • Program Characteristics
    • "330 Wellness School” Talks and Workshops: To introduce the common knowledge of mental illness, stress and emotional management skill, and the practice of positive psychology in order to enhance personal psychological resources.
    • "330 Wellness School” Social Inclusion Program and Volunteer Service: Facilitate students and PIRs to co-design feature activities to serve the community.
    • "330 Wellness School” Drama Inclusion Program: Through drama skill training, students and PIRs co-produce drama scripts and conduct performance in the community to promote community mental health.
    • "330 Wellness School” Recognition Ceremony: recognize schools and sharing on fruitful experience in promoting and cultivating wellness culture.

"Love.Inclusion.Volunteer" Project (start from 2013)

  • This program objective is to spread the seeds of "caring culture" in the community, cultivate a group of volunteers to play an active role in planning and implementing a series of "harmony and integration" caring community activities, promote positive values, such as "love, inclusion, volunteerism" and fulfill their civic responsibilities within their families and communities.
  • By recruiting community members, persons in recovery and their family members to become volunteers, and nurture them to participate organize exchange and training to develop cohesion among volunteers and continue serving the community. Program will provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in community service and implement activities, such as visits to people living in poor housing condition, those living in rural area, organized activities to promote public awareness on mental health as to achieve an inclusive community.

"Mental Health Tour" Experiential Project (start from 2011)

  • The project aimed to dispel the myths of mental illness and stigma so as to enhance the general public’s understanding and acceptance towards persons in recovery (PIRs) in the community. Through the use of multi-media, art pieces appreciation and role play, participants were able to visualize a simulated psychotic episode and experience the struggles and inner world when a person was undergoing a mental relapse and treatment process.

Psychiatric Medical Subsidy and Community Support Project (2023-2024)

  • This project aims at bridging up the gap of Hong Kong residents of any age with suspected mental health problem and waiting public psychiatric service by subsidizing them to receive early treatment from private psychiatrist.
  • The project was co-funded by Chow Tai Fook Medical Foundation with total amount of more than HK$12 million for 2 years and estimated 840 beneficiaries.

The Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) (2014-2019)

Neighborhood of Well -being (NEW) So Uk 330 (2016-2019)

  • The Project funded by the CIIF was aimed at cultivating mutual support and extend reconnection and care among the residents in So Uk Estate (Sham Shui Po) through mobilizing cross-sectorial and cross organizational collaboration during the period from April 2016 to March 2019.

"Neighbourhood of Wellness – Sailing into Happiness” (2014-2017)

  • Riding on the positive outcomes and feedback of "Neighbourhood of Wellness” launched from 2011 to 2014, the project was further progressed to become the"Neighbourhood of Wellness – Sailing into Happiness", project with the continuous support from the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF). This 3-year new project aimed to further mobilize the social capitals in Tin Shui Wai to promote mental wellness and strengthen the resilience of the residents when facing mental disturbance. The project would train up volunteers as the "First-line Responder” to provide early support for neighbours who encountered emotional and mental distress, and hence to build up a supportive network in Tin Shui Wai. With this social acceptance and social integration, citizens in the community would embrace the joy of life and build up their competence that supports them to encounter upcoming challenges to live their lives to the fullest.

Neighbourhood of Wellness Project (2011-2014)

  • The Neighbourhood of Wellness (NOW) Project funded by the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund was initiated and aimed at fostering a caring and harmonic culture, enriching human capital and exhibiting individual potentials. A cross-sectoral support network was developed for promoting "wellness”, thereby strengthening the resilience of the public and nurturing a community of caring, and social inclusion.
  • The multi-sector collaboration, which comprised of members from the community, government departments, property management companies, schools, medical organizations and welfare agencies, enabled the project to engage stakeholders with shared vision and mission to create neigbourhood wellness hands in hands. The "Neighborhood Joy Club” was implemented via training workshops on wellness, Mental Health First Aid and youth mental health. Candidates who had successfully acquired the skills become "Joy Ambassadors”. A "Block Captain” system was also developed to offer support to the marginalized families or individuals in their vicinity, to refer people in need to suitable services and to organize programs on wellness.

Integrated Mental Health Program for Kowloon West Cluster of Hospital Authority (start from 2010)

  • Service Description
    Integrated Mental Health Program (IMHP) is a scheme under Hospital Authority general out-patient clinics (GOPCs) which provide diversify services to improve individual’s mental well-being, early intervention for mild to moderate common mental disorders, services included individual counselling, groups and workshops, with medical intervention provided by family physicians to promote individual physical and mental health to live an active and fulfilling life.
  • Objectives
    Improve mental health awareness of GOPCs attendants;
    Provide early detection, counselling and intervention service for patients with common mental disorder in GOPCs;
    Link up service users to social services and community resources based on their needs.
  • Service Target
    Aged 18 or above GOPCs attendant.
  • Application and Withdrawal
    Application: referrals via GOPCs ONLY;
    Withdrawal: service user can withdraw service by request;
    $50 will be charged per attendance, but eligible person may apply for medical fee waiver.

    Referral to social services and community resources.

"Dream with Teens: Community Participated Drama Project" (2015-2016)

  • The project adopted "Inclusive Drama” and "Forum Theatre” elements, aiming to encourage mutual sharing among people in recovery of mental illness and community members, thereby enhance mutual respect and acceptance. "Inclusive Drama” invites youth and people in recovery of mental illness to co-create the scripts and perform in the community, enable mutual exchange and understanding. "Forum Theatre” invites people in recovery of mental illness to write the scripts based on their life experiences, audiences from college and community discuss, select their roles to play and plot the ending of the drama together. The project is expected to enhance individuals’ holistic health and sense of control, maintain a positive living and civil participation, as well as becoming responsible and cherishing citizens.

Agency-based Peer Support Service in Community Psychiatric Service Units (start from 2018)

  • Agency-based Peer Support Service (ABPSS) in Community Psychiatric Service Units is to equip suitable ex-mentally ill persons to serve as Peer Supporters to offer emotional and recovery support for ex-mentally ill persons in need in community psychiatric service units including Integrated Community Centres for Mental Wellness (ICCMWs), residential care service units or vocational rehabilitation service units through trained peer supporters by rendering emotional and recovery support through telephone contacts, outreaching or concern visits, etc.. The Peer Supporters also organize group activities and conduct mental health education programmes to enhance public’s understanding on mental wellness and positive knowledge on ex-mentally ill persons.

 

Agency-based Clinical Psychological Service for Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness (start from 2018)

  • Agency-based Clinical Psychological Service (ABCPS) for Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness (ICCMW) provided psychological support services for the service users of ICCMW with complicated case nature but not receiving such service of Hospital Authority (HA) or Social Welfare Department (SWD). ABCPS also offers clinical supervision and case consultation to the staff of ICCMW and professional training to helping professionals with a view to enhancing their capability in working with persons with mental health problems.
