Fans Are Freaking Out Over the Latest 'Blue Bloods' Series Update
Blue Bloods has been renewed for a 12th season.
The season 12 premiere will air on Friday, October 1.
Blue Bloods fans can hardly contain their excitement. After the season 11 finale on May 15, 2021, fans have been itching for news from their procedural. Namely, the premiere date of season 12. And, at long last, the news is here.
On Monday, July 12, the Blue Bloods Instagram and Twitter accounts announced that season 12 will be out in just a few months. “Add October 1st to your phone calendars. Now,” the show’s Twitter account posted.
Naturally, the news has been widely liked and re-shared across social media. And the comments keep rolling in. “Yes!! Forthwith!” one Instagram user commented. “I just can’t believe how he moved through the ranks of private investigator in Hawaii to the PC!” one fan wrote, referencing Tom Selleck’s breakout 1980s role in Magnum, P.I. “Counting the days,” another fan chimed in with a series of blue hearts.
Of course, there were also comments about fans' disappointment in the relationship development (or, rather, latch thereof) between Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez). “Shame that the show has decided to pull the Danny and Baez story after two years of teasing it,” one fan commented, which triggered a chain of comments.
When asked how the commenter knew such, he responded, “Donnie Wahlberg and executive producer, Kevin Wade both did interviews ruling it out.” And it's true, Kevin did reveal more about Danny and Baez in an interview with TV Insider.
“We recognize it and certainly the actors like each other, in front of the camera and between setups,” Kevin said in May. “I’m gonna use Sam and Diane from Cheers and really age myself here, but once it happens, there’s nowhere to go. There really aren’t stories in happy couples and there are definitely not stories in police detectives on the job having a personal relationship with their partner.”
Which ultimately leads us to wonder, who will Danny and Baez end up with in season 12? Only time will tell!
