The Model: While the fastest selling Chevrolets in the performance market were the midsize Chevelles and new sport-compact Camaros for 1967, there was still a number of customers who wanted fullsize high-performance. Chevrolet answered that need on several levels with the sportiest and most luxurious coming with the Super Sports package. While the SS was essentially a trim and dress-up selection, there were several powerful engines that could be placed under the hood. When either the 396 or 427 V8’s were ordered it could include such goodies as chrome plated simulated air inlets for the hood, distinctive badges, and for passenger comfort full vinyl StratoBucket seats up front, a center console, and other amenities. Add to that Rally wheels and redline tires and it completed a picture of speed and elegance. These cars represent what America was all about, style, power, beauty as well as baseball, apple pie and of course, Chevrolet.

The Car: This Impala Super Sports features body panels that are original to the car with fit at or above factory specifications. Presented in Marina Blue the interior features those Strato-bucket seats finished in matching vinyl, same for the rear seat too. The dash-mounted gauges are clean, clear and functional while the center console is home to the four speed shifter. With the white soft top in place, you’re a snug as can be. Under the hood is neat, tidy and despite wearing 427 badges, we have been assured this is a genuine high-performance 454 V8. Everywhere you look on this 1967 Impala SS you see perfection but behind the wheel you will experience fullsize performance at its best. Even the undersides of the car are in pristine condition. This Impala represents an era when the greatest cars built were from America, and the bestselling brand for 1967 had to be Chevrolet.
