Executive Chef Michael Gottlieb
An heir of culinary intuition, Chef Gottlieb was the youngest operator of the former Gottlieb’s Bakery, a 110 year institution of Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding low country, where he came of age. At seventeen, Chef Gottlieb began his formal culinary education at Johnson & Wales. Early forays in fine dining began at The Gatehouse in Providence, Rhode Island, the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland, and the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia. This experience led to the opening of his own AAA four-diamond-awarded restaurant, Gottlieb’s Restaurant & Dessert Bar, in partnership with his two brothers. The James Beard foundation awarded Chef Gottlieb for creative excellence in 2016; he has cooked at the James Beard House on several occasions. Among other accolades and ventures, Chef Gottlieb served as Executive Chef for both the Ralph Brennan Group and Omni Hotel in New Orleans, prior to overseeing the opening of new Omni restaurants nationwide. He returned to Louisiana in 2019 to open Tchefuncte’s and The Anchor on the Northshore. A passion for foraging wild ingredients and a love of music inspire his creative work.
