Though we live in the DC area, we spent a night at the Astoria DC to celebrate our anniversary, and it was fantastic. This is a magnificent hotel, certainly the finest Hilton in DC and one of the most luxurious in the US. The staff is fantastic, and every member we encountered went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. As a Hilton Diamond, my room was upgraded from a standard to super deluxe king on the top non-suite (8th) floor, where we enjoyed a massive bathroom with a large soaking tub and an unparalleled view of the Capitol. Unlimited Fiji and Evian waters were provided throughout our stay, and our room was nicely turned down while we were out to dinner. Because it was our anniversary, we were greeted with glasses of Prosecco, and a custom dessert was delivered to our room (that was decadent). The $25/each Diamond supplement did not quite cover breakfast in the Peacock Alley lounge, but it came close, and the breakfast was excellent. This is the perfect hotel for a Diamond stay, even though it lacks a member lounge. The larger hotel restaurant is not yet open, but there are many excellent restaurants nearby. If you are visiting from outside our region, you should know that you cannot possibly beat this location for tourist travel. Most of what you want to see and do is within easy walking distance, and the Metro is just steps away. The rooms here are well appointed, larger than normal for a lux hotel, and gorgeous. The beds are very comfortable. Our sole complaint was that our room never really got cool during a DC heatwave, though it was not unbearably hot. If you prefer a cool room, you may want to choose a lower floor for a summer stay. I could name several staff members who worked hard to please us and were more than welcoming and friendly, but a special shout out to Assistant Front Office Director Samar Mansour, who took time to give us a full tour of the hotel, including the closed Presidential Ballroom. I had called ahead to notify the hotel of our celebration, but concierge Tracy Dunaway reached out in advance to offer assistance, and we were contacted by multiple staffers before, during, and after our stay to ensure we were cared for. Said at the front desk was also very attentive. This is one of the best Hilton staffs I have encountered in my many years as a Diamond. This is a rare gem in the Hilton portfolio. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in what was the old post office - a mighty fine historic building in the middle of D.C. A great location - a metro station just around the corner and a 5 minute walk to the national mall. The main entrance and reception is stunning. It’s like a plaza - there’s a bar and seating with a restaurant. It is so grand and a massive American flag is hung on one wall. Simply stunning. Through out the hotel the decorations are fantastic. The staff were also really great - the breakfast and bar staff amazing and the door staff. Really great people. The room was very comfortable. The king bed was heavenly. In our room we also had a desk with a chair and a big cabinet with a huge tv on it with bedside tables each. There’s a wardrobe with a safe in it and a steamer. We had a great sleep. The bathroom is stunning. Double sinks, a huge shower and the biggest bath I’ve ever seen. Their toiletries are fantastic. Hair dryer available too. With our deal we got money for breakfast included. It’s not the cheapest breakfast but it is fantastic - the pancakes and bacon with maple syrup I can’t stop thinking of and the salmon avocado stack was also delicious. We also got some room credit which we spent on cocktails in the evening - some great choices. The bar is really well presented. You can normally go up to the tower which is not run by the hotel but due to covid this was not possible. We had an absolutely super stay. I know that it is being sold and I hope that the grandness of the hotel remains.

The personal attention to detail and concern for your comfort begins before you arrive the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC. It is clearly evident why this hotel is in the top three not just in DC but the US. Both concierge Jennifer and concierge Tracy reached out early to assist in my plans for making sure my two 10 year old nephew's first trip Washington, DC early July 2022 was amazing and inspiring. Jennifer set me up with private guide Ismail (separate review on this amazing guy and his vast knowledge of US history), secured all meal reservations I requested and also had welcome treats in our rooms upon arrival. The Waldorf is worth every bit of the price. The location is very convenient since it is in Federal Triangle with a Metro stop just outside and a short five minute walk to The Mall as well as many restaurants and attractions. Upon entering the stunning lobby of the old post office, reception is convenient and personal. The doorman Ahmed and bellman Antehan greeted us all by name (I had alerted Jennifer we had arrived at the airport) and front desk receptionist Sumi quickly checked us in. Every day Ahmed the doorman, Antehan, and Sumi made sure to greet us with fresh water and smiles. Our rooms (723 and 729) were upgraded to the seventh floor facing the Washington Monument. Awesome amenities and comfortable beds befitted very clean and quiet rooms. I will say the only, and I do repeat only, negatives about this hotel is the evening music playing for the bar area is a little loud and off putting and since this hotel is newly opened (from the transition of the Trump International in May 2022) there is not yet a fully operational restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be served in the bar area and by room service. We took the Metro to most places we needed and found it mostly safe but were certainly diligent and aware. Again, the five star level of service is incomparable. The staff is most accommodating and certainly elevates this hotel it's top three ranking in the US.

I've stayed in a few different 5 star hotels in my time in the US and the UK but this hotel was amazing. I was lucky to get a great deal on my HHonors rewards points to stay here because the daily rate is high, but you can see why when you arrive. The hotel is amazing to look at from the outside, however if I didn't already know it was the Waldorf you'd struggle to see from looking at it as the only sign is around the corner from what looks like the original main entrance. The clock tower is the second tallest building in DC but we didn't get the chance to visit as it closes at 4.30pm and on the one morning we had to visit, there was a technical issue. When you arrive at the hotel, the concierge immediately opened the doors and helped with our bags. We'd had to walk from Union station in the rain to get there so they brought us some towels to dry our faces and hair and some water to drink. The reception area is in the main bar area and inside it is stunning to look at. Every detail of the hotel is exceptional, the rooms have drapes and table lights either side of the door, and its very light and welcoming. We were upgraded to a deluxe/premium room and were welcomed with a little cake to celebrate our anniversary. The team had reached out prior to our stay to find out more about us, who we were and why we were visiting etc. this was a great touch. Whilst retaining its elegant style the room still felt modern, it was very light, very clean (in fact the cleaning service was twice per day!). The curtains were even electronic, which my wife loved. We had a view of the top half of Washington Monument, but as most buildings in DC are around the same height you couldn't see much else. The bathroom was very nice and the toiletries provided were excellent quality. The restaurant wasn't open when we stayed as the hotel has only just been converted from the Trump to the Waldorf so they are still working things out, but you can eat in the bar area, which has plenty of seating options. We only had drinks but again there was lots to choose from on the menu, from wine and champagne, cocktails and simple beers. Prices were expensive but you're in a very expensive hotel so its to be expected. All of the staff were very friendly, but we go chatting to one of the concierge who was especially welcoming and was talking to us about the hotel and asking where we're from. I don't recall his name unfortunately but he's worked there whilst it was the Trump too and used to live in the UK, liked football (soccer) so it was very easy to chat to him. Overall it was an amazing stay and I'd love to come back one day.

A few days before our arrival I had phoned the hotel and spoken to someone who was extremely helpfull in answering my questions and also amending my reservation. On our arrival day, I phoned the front desk at about noon to tell them my approximate arrival time and asked that the two rooms I booked be connecting if possible. The young woman told me she would call me back. I told her she did not have to go through the trouble. If they could do it, fine. If not that was ok also. Within minutes she called back to tell me that unless I wanted to switch my two queen bed rooms to one king and two queen beds, the best she could do was have the rooms next to one another. I told her to keep the two rooms the same-two beds in each room. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the gentlemen outside. When I went to the front desk to check in, a gentleman named greeted me and asked my name. I gave him my last name and he said "ah yes" and remembered my first name. I was amazed. He then proceded to tell me he upgraded my room. What a pleasant surprise and amazing greeting. He then pulled out a basket of stuffed animals and told my 3 grandchildren to pick one each. What a joy. Another gentleman took us up to our rooms and helped with our bags. My grandchildren forgot their toothbrushes and he came right back with 3 toothbrushes!! Room service was timely and the food was delicious. I will tell you that besides impressing the adults you are impressing future generations. My grandaughter was with me on my two previous stays. On the drive down all she did was tell my two grandsons what an amazing hotel we were going to and that " the people that work there are really, really nice." Hopefully I will be able to come to Washington again and when I do I will be staying at The Trump International Hotel.

Really do not know where to start ... with a top rated hotel like this, you expect the hotel to be nice, but this hotel is over the top down to the most minute details. What you don’t expect is what separates this hotel from all the others ... the employees. They are all so personal, nice, and act like they have known you for years. The employees are not stuffy. Either Ali or Harrison are at the front desk all the time and seem to know everything that is going on. Security makes you feel extremely safe. The housekeeping does not just keep the room nice, but also picks up after your personal items. When they noticed additional suitcases on the floor, they brought in extra luggage racks without being asked. They left a bookmark on top of a book my son left out and a screen cleaner on top of a laptop. The way the room is furnished, it is very inviting for relaxing. Furnished with automatic heavy drapes that do not let any light in. I could write volumes, but just suffice it to say that this hotel is set apart from any other. It’s not just a hotel, but an experience!

The moment I stepped up to the front desk, the young gentleman greeted me with: "You are getting a room upgrade" I did not see that coming. The porter accompanied me, carried my luggage to my huge room. He showed me the automated curtain, privacy button, and helped me take pictures in the room. The pillows were the softest. Hotel is pricey but worth it. That was Christmas Eve. I had a nice dinner at the Benjamin Bar. Come Christmas Day, I asked for a late check out at 4pm since my dinner reservations were not until 4pm at BLT Prime. The Director of Attache', Ali Merchant advised me that to stay that late would require half a day's hotel rate of $250++. All of a sudden, he exclaimed: "Well, since it's Christmas you may stay without charge. Merry Christmas, Ms Cruz"!!! That's the stuff life is made of - unexpected surprises - one can't ask for a better Christmas gift !!! The bone in rib eye at BLT Prime was very tender, and humongous. I had to take half home to eat the next day.

Excellent hotel. The best I've stayed in thus far. Looking forward to going back again in the future. Service, decor, ambiance were all impeccable. Hotel restaurant was superb and my room was exceptionally quiet. The place smelled good, room service was fantastic and even the room air conditioning wasn't overly loud like most places. I can't wait to take my wife next time so she can experience the grandeur of this converted post office. Pro tip: Give the chocolate chip cookies a try. They are magnificent.

The Trump hotel in DC was beautiful. The service is impeccable. The room is spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. There is lots of natural light and the bathroom was large with a walk in shower and tub. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean. This is probably the nicest hotel that my family and I stayed in and we have stayed in very luxurious hotels in the past. The hotel is in a perfect location

From the moment we arrived our bellman took control of our experience. Dressed in professional attire he greeted us and escorted us to our check in location. Our car was secured and luggage prepared for delivery. He never left us until we confirmed our room was ready as we had an early arrival. Because the attache had made contact with me before arriving our room was available. We were escorted to our room and he explained information about the Tower museum attached to the hotel. Our room was breathtaking as was the size of the powder room. Turn down service with slippers at the bedside and low lighting with music playing in our room made for a relaxing evening following dinner. Soaker tub for 2 was a surprise but lots of fun as we played soft music and talked for an hour. The mattress was heavenly as was the bedding. A birthday card and dessert was a unexpected treat. I called for extra pillows and had them brought quickly by a very pleasant staff member. There was nothing we could have asked for more. Elegance with class is written all over this facility and their staff. Wonderful birthday celebration! You will not be disappointed
