About
A Sedona landmark since the 1970's, Tlaquepaque treats visitors and local residents to an exceptional collection of galleries, shops and dining establishments. Named after the picturesque Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque construction began in 1971 with the creation of the wall along the highway. Giant sycamores and stately cottonwoods dapple the light in the courtyards, encouraging the visitors to meander from one courtyard to the next. While meandering stop by and view our Chapel on property - and perhaps you might get a glimpse of a wedding and reception. Tlaquepaque hosts several community events throughout the year. Tlaquepaque is a place that visitors return to again and again - to look and wander, to sample and buy, to eat, drink and refresh body and soul. Visit us soon and discover the magic yourself!

Such a beautiful place, in a beautiful place.
This area in Sedona is beautiful. It’s a small village with restaurants and shops. There is a small chapel and it’s beautifully landscaped. It’s like a little village. We found it was easy to access and park and enjoyed the courtyard and other areas. Recommend stopping here and taking a stroll through this area. It’s really a treat.

    Beautiful Shopping Village
What a beautiful shopping village! We spent most of the day there and probably went into every shop. The architecture/design is amazing. We took lots of pictures. Not your average shopping center. There was even musicians playing while you shop. The art galleries have very unique items-not what you find everywhere. Also, a nice area to have lunch. The Secret Garden has lovely outdoor garden seating. This is a nice way to spend the day.

    Beautiful Tuscan Stye Shopping Village
We discovered this shopping area on our last day in Sedona. I wish we would have seen it earlier. Would be a beautiful place to walk around and browse all the art galleries and shops. I didn't see many clothing boutiques for women; maybe one or two. Saw several art galleries that are always fun to browse in. There are restaurants in the village as well.

    Extraordinary Finds
I enjoyed shopping and dining at this beatifully and carefully designed Mission Hacienda inspired location. It is filled with boutiques curated with exquisite art, jewlery, fashion, home items and so much more. It is within a 300 steps from Hotel El Portal and Los Abrigados Resort. We enjoyed afternoon coffee at the Secret Garden and dinner at Rene's.

    A must stop shop
Very pretty shopping village. It stands out amongst all other shops in the area. The shops are for those who are into artsy items (intricate jewelry, one of a kind bowls, paintings, quilts, etc) and very nice restaurants. The biggest draw for me was walking around the uniquely built plaza - it’s worth a stop for sure.

    Worth a visit
If you like mostly high end shops and galleries, you will enjoy this adorable village. There is an old chapel and a few other notable structures to enjoy but I probably wouldn’t tKe my kids there. It’s definitely more of an adult oriented destination and worth visiting at least once.

    Upscale shopping
Very upscale shopping village in Sedona. Now spans both sides of the highway with more shops on the original site than the North site. Nice place with plenty of shade and many shops and galleries. Some nice sculptures and fountains as well.

    Pretty Shopping
This was a pretty lace to walk around. It’s very pricey to shop. It had a lot of neat art to look at and some shops with drinks and snacks. Don’t forget to cross the street too we almost missed the second half.

    Carmel in Sedona
Very charming collection of old-timey plazas with lovely shops. Lots of art galleries and jewelry stores, eating places too. We spent most of our time in the Native American Arts store called Ninibah. I strongly recommend this store for its quality jewelry, fair prices, and excellent service.

    Wonderful shopping experience!
Amazing, beautiful shopping area. We could have spent all day there if we had time! Unique shops and galleries and beautiful village arrangement! Glad we got to go there while seeing the red rock formations in Sedona!

Charming ambiance. Mixture of hallmark type stores and very expensive artisan stores The candel shop was pretty neat. We ate at the Mexican resturaunt for lunch...disappointed even the chips and salsa were yuck. There is a shop called "hummingbird" in spanish upstairs. The woman was so nice. She makes all her items in her shop. I was surprised there were not many local artists or Native American Indians selling their products in the stores. Kind of felt mislead being our first visit. Lots of shops to look at. We didnt have time to go through all. We will be returning to Sedona in the fall but would like to shop and support the local natives and artists instead. So we will be headed up the mountain first. If we have any money left to spend we will stop by again and give this place another chance. It is a great place to sit and enjoy the ambiance though!

There is no doubt about it: this is a very chichi place. You will not find cheap clothes, shoes, souvenirs, jewelry, knickknacks, décor, or restaurant meals in this place, but you will certainly enjoy looking at all of the above. There are sweet treats to suit the pickiest palate plus teas, coffees, breweries, wineries, and more. There are visual delights to treat your eyes no matter which way you turn, and all of the area is kept clean and nicely landscaped. The wedding chapel is no doubt lovely as well.

This is a pretty location with a lot of instagram-y areas but for the most part it seemed like a bunch of high priced art galleries without much to do but 'look' for the average person. It was difficult to get in to the restaurants without reservations (although it was apparently the busy season). If you like looking at artwork, definitely a must see.

We weren't sure what to expect. It's uniquely set up with different styles of shops. It is upscale and pricey, but at the same time many pieces are made by individual artists. I get that it's not necessarily "Arizona made", but there's a ton of repetitive non-Arizona made goods in Uptown. So we actually preferred it to Uptown. Also a bit less chaotic.

While on our first visit to Sedona we stopped into the Tlaquepaque Shopping Village. The first morning we were looking to eat breakfast at one of the restaurants there but it was crowded and had a long wait.

We did stop back again one afternoon and found it hard to park...Seems like a real popular place for sure. While it has a beautiful look to its design and buildings you better time your visits as parking and restaurant wait times could be a real deterrent for a nice visit.

Hopefully on our next visit we may get to spend more time walking through the many shops and have time for a glass of wine and some olives....

This is a beautiful place to stop even if you do not want to shop. The buildings and setting takes you to another place and you feel transported to a small village. There was a gentleman singing and playing music, it was very entertaining. There are several places to eat and many shops ranging from various mediums of art and trinket items. Whatever type of art you enjoy they probably have it. But walk around and enjoy the view.
Also, the main parking areas are frequently crowded go to the back area there was plenty of parking and you just take a short walk over a bridge to get to the shopping area.

We enjoyed walking around and looking at art from very high-end to affordable prices. Street musicians were non-obtrusive, talented and personable. We enjoyed a cup of chai and chatting with individual shop keepers. A delightful afternoon experience.

After touring the Chapel of the Holy Cross, we went to Tlaquepaque in search of food and drink. While this shopping village has beautiful buildings and a neat feel to it, we were disappointed that it lacked places to hang out and have a drink or to grab a quick bite to eat. In fact, the main area of Tlaquepaque lacks almost any eateries - which is odd given its promotion as a destination spot.

The shops are nice, but very pricey, and the entire "village" lacks any real charm or friendliness.

Hmm...thanks for your response but we do have several eateries - perhaps you missed them ..which is odd. We have a Mexican Restaurant - El Rincon, Oak Creek Brewery and Grill, Rene Restaurant , The Secret Garden as well as the Pump House. All of those have BARS. Then for a quick grab and go, we have CREAM as well as Cake Couture. We encourage you to come back...get a map and perhaps seek out all the gems we have to offer! As far as charm - wow - not sure what you missed -seems like you were'nt even at Tlaquepaque!

Highlights:
The people are all welcoming and friendly.
Chris Navarro's sculptures are vivid with full of life.
The guitar player Solomon could not have complemented the place more.
Spirits and Spice is a wonder in itself.
Daniel the candle maker showing how globe candles are made.

Tips:
Bring water. Make time to enjoy the place.

If you're looking for that unique gift, this is one of the best places to find them. They carry a hefty tag but a some of the items are worth it.

Beautifully built village that's good fun to explore. We enjoyed talking with the staff in the stores, often either the artist or owner. We bought a few beautiful jewelry pieces that were made in Sedona as souvenirs.

We enjoyed some live music outside El Ricon with cold drinks and chips.

The only negative is you can get a little lost navigating the village but as long as you have time to kill, it's not a problem!

Nicely located in Sedona, worth a visit during your stay!
