- Russell3939Castle Rock, Colorado856 contributionsFun for the kidsWe did the because my 11 year old wanted to. He really enjoyed it. As an adult looking to do this I would say save your money. Once everyone gets loaded on you get 3 full turns around. I’d your looking for views, I’m sure there are better and cheaper places.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 10, 2023
- MattkurChicago, Illinois131 contributionsWhat a sight!I knew I wanted to see this attraction down at the pier. I only wish I would have gotten the city pass so we could have done the boat ride as well. The only other two like it in the U.S. are in Niagara Falls and Myrtle Beach.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 23, 2023
- mlmaynardLincoln City, Oregon197 contributionsGreat fun on the Great WheelI didn't want to go on the Great Wheel due to a fear of heights. However, my granddaughter really wanted to ride. We did and I don't regret it at all. The line appeared quite long but went quickly. The view was spectacular. I'd do it again!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 30, 2023
- deepakgupta5Vancouver, Canada610 contributionsThe highlight of our Seattle tripThis was by far, the best experience of our Seattle trip. The ride is for more than 15 minutes and you get the best views of the Seattle seaside and the downtown. Evening around sunset is the best time to go for the visit. The ride is longer and higher than Singapore Eye and Skyview Altanta.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 12, 2023
- Heidi-ready-2-travelCrystal Lake, Illinois2,128 contributions3 Spins AroundSo glad we squeezed this in. The wait was not long at all- 5 minutes to get tickets and maybe 10 minutes to get into the Ferris wheel "pod". Beautiful views- The are 3 trips around for the price. Take your pictures of the wheel from the ground before getting on, because they disembark into a little mall, bathroom, restaurant, gift shop area.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten August 13, 2023
- Eli KBrooklyn, New York646 contributionsNice view of SeattleThe wait in line isn’t too long and you go around the wheel around 3/4 times. The whole experience was around 15 minutes. You get to see a nice view of Seattle and the Space Needle.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten August 23, 2023
- Grover RPensacola, Florida18,123 contributionsGreat Way to See the City of SeattleI tend to like anything that gives a view so I'm a sucker for Ferris Wheels, London, Chicago and St. Louis, so I had to do this one. I will say you do get 4 full rotations as opposed to just one in London and the line does move quickly. I will say of all the observation spaces we visited, we wanted to do one at night. I will say that I would probably have preferred to do the Wheel during the day and another view like Space Needle or Smith Tower at night due to the reflection in the cabin. Still it was great to see the city at night with all its lights on. I will also say waiting in line and watching the sunset over the Olympic mountains was amazing, worth the prize of the Wheel by itself. Also, while you can see the Space Needle, you don't get the best pictures of it from the Wheel cabins. Still it was a fun experience and great to see the city after dark.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2023
- OntheLOW22Wilmington, North Carolina29 contributionsThrowing caution to the Wheel!Decided to do this on a whim and had a great time! The views are just amazing and we were fortunate to visit Seattle during a beautiful streak of weather. There's an older review from 2019 that gives some great history re: this attraction so be sure to scroll down and check it out. The only thing that gave me pause for concern were the kids running the wheel. I don't think they were old enough to drive themselves there to work. Seriously. Very young! But we rode it anyway and had a blast! :)Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 19, 2023
- Eric DArlington, Virginia20 contributionsGreat Wheel Great BoreMy first big touristy place Wheel and it was pretty boring. THat's about it. Boring. Be sure to do the Wings over Washington thing next door, that is cool. Then again, maybe a big wheel is just a nice quiet fun time. not meant to be thrill seeking.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 26, 2023
- MARLA L2 contributionsFun for every ageAmazing day with the grandkids down on the waterfront. We all loved the Great Wheel and the views from the top were breath taking. Felt very safe and secure inside the gondolas with the kids moving around to see different views. The rest of the day on the water front was eventful.Visited August 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 6, 2023

We went on this at night as a family of four with a 14 year old and an 11 year old. My daughter and I are not afraid of heights and like adventure. My husband and son, not so much. We went around 4 times (I think it is usually only 3). Going at night provided awesome vibrant views of the city. The wind was whipping and you could hear it and feel it slightly. It was an exciting ride for my daughter and I. My husband and son were glad when it was over. I think it’s a great experience and would recommend.

We've been here since I got out of the Army in 2005 but I haven't really played tourist. With COVID keeping us close to home, I decided to finally check out some of the tourist hot spots. The thought of spending $50 for two adults and our two girls gave me pause since I read that you only go around three times but I figured to give it a go since we're all stir crazy. Lucky for us, we got to go around six times and the girls enjoyed the view and the ride. I took a star away because it was stuffy in there for us but other than that it was a nice experience though I don't plan to do that again.

I took the family for our first getaway since 2019 to Seattle. One of our stops was the Seattle Great Wheel. Situated on Miner’s Landing, otherwise known as Pier 57, the giant Ferris Wheel is hard to miss when traveling along the city’s western edge.
The wait for the ride was less than 10 minutes and the cars seat about 4 people. Once on, the ride spins relatively slowly to make your 3 revolutions. The only reason I am giving it a four dot review is because when the car we were riding in was at the apogee of the rotation you could feel the wind on the outside pushing and vibrating the ride. I have not experienced that before on a Ferris Wheel, maybe it’s because the ride is anchored to a wooden pier but overall I didn’t feel very stable while on the ride.
Just my personal opinion. I believe the ride has a very good safety record but if you are skittish about heights you may want to skip this one.

Maybe this is a good option for tourists getting ready for an Alaska cruise, but its expensive and similar views can be had for free with just a bit of walking. Recommend a walk-on round trip ferry ride to Bainbridge instead. Beautiful views and less costly.

Great attraction on the waterfront in Seattle especially on a sunny day. Beautiful views of ferries and sailboats on the bay and the beautiful Seattle skyline including the Space Needle. Currently due to Covid restrictions they are sanitizing each car between rides so it takes a little longer to load but they can load 4 cars at a time. Your are loaded by party and if there are only 2 people you have the car to yourself although you have to sit opposite each other for balance. Depending on how long the line is your ride may be shorter or longer. We were advised we would be doing 3 rotations once all the cars were full. It would have been nice to have more time but there was a line of people waiting. Once you do your rotations you do stopped at several levels while they are letting off passengers so you get some time to just look at the view from the higher level. All in all we had a great time and would recommend.

Your tickets are not tied to any date or time but get there right at opening to avoid a long line. Masks are still required. No outside food or beverage allowed but they sell drinks at entry. Your water bottle is ok and snacks in our backpacks weren’t confiscated. Strollers are left at the boarding platform and not allowed in the pods. There is air conditioning in the capsules. Views are great and you circle around 3-4 times in 20 minutes. Efficient loading and shade as you wait.

We were trapped in an inferno. There was zero ventilation in the pod and we were sweating so bad that our shirts were soaked when we got off. Our one year old was drenched in sweat and screaming because he was so hot but we had no way of getting anyone’s attention that we were burning up. I would be so afraid for an older person getting on this thing and passing out from heat stroke. I tried contacting someone from the management company but haven’t heard back. Please be aware that once inside there is no way out or way to communicate that something is wrong.

It seems like every city now has their own large ferris wheel. It's a great way to get an overview of the skyline and have some fun at the same time. The Great Wheel is no different. We have been fortunate to be on the big wheels in London, Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong to name a few. In the case of the Seattle Wheel they were also selling drinks, including alcohol, before you entered which you can take along for the ride which was a nice touch. This is one of those Seattle experiences that you can't miss!
FYI, during our current covid times they are putting each party (whether its 2 or 6 people) in separate cars for safety reasons.

Went on the Seattle Great Wheel, Line wasn't to long which was nice as it was really hot out. Once you get past the photo opp there is a little bar where you can get drinks and take them on the wheel with you they also come in souvenir cups. When getting on the Wheel if you sit on the left side of the table you will get views of the water and if you sit on the right you will get the views of the city.

We paid for a VIP upgrade to ride in a glass bottom carriage which was supposed to include music, drinks, photos and T-shirt souvenirs. The speaker system was not working, they were out of stock on all T-shirt’s and they don’t even care if you’re blinking in the pictures that they’re taking or printing. The drinks were ok and the ride was fine, but don’t waste money on the extras.

You mention, "The VIP one has a glass bottom floor and includes Champagne and t-shirts for all".
What do the t-shirts look like?
Is it one glass of champagne per person or is it a bottle of champagne? ...for $150/pp

Hello, we have a rental car for an evening with a handicapped person in the car. I was planning to drive him through Seattle downtown and take some pictures in front of famous monuments. Any suggestions with metered parking or handicapped parking? Is driving through downtown really bad like Boston, although I am used to now? Thanks!!

Sorry for the late reply- I don't check this as often as I should. We drove downtown and parked in a garage near the Pike Place Market. The streets were very crowded; this was on a Saturday. There did not seem like a lot of accommodations for access, but I was not looking for them, either. I hope you had a nice time.
