Ideally situated 5 minutes from Victoria station & Victoria palace theatre which was the purpose of our visit. This is a Victorian hotel which retains some of its magnificent features whilst offering up to date service. We had an executive room which was well equipped with a very comfortable king size bed & a double sofa bed. Tea & coffee making facilities, Iron & ironing board, dressing gowns slippers etc. Tastefully furnished & spotlessly clean. Good sized bathroom again very clean, I note some people complained of insufficient towels, well as you may expect, there was a hand towel, a face cloth & a bath towel each. This hotel has done away with those small bottles of toiletries opting for the more environmentally friendly large refillable dispensers. There was a mini bar with a couple of complimentary soft drinks & bottled water, again in recyclable glass bottles or aluminium cans. Not a vast choice but free! General areas such as reception , the dining room & toilets were all clean & tidy. The breakfast offered the usual mix of continental & cooked foods all served buffet style, but with plenty of staff available to assist if needed, omelets & poached eggs were available on request. I cannot fault the staff that we met during our brief stay, from the doorman who greeted us on arrival to the doorman that bade us farewell all were polite, helpful & friendly, retaurant staff were attentive & They could not have done more to make us feel welcome. As with most hotel rooms there’s always something not quite right, in ours it would be the position of an electric point close enough to a mirror to facilitate the best use of the hairdryer, having stayed in many hotel rooms this is not an uncommon thing. We would definitely stay here again. For the overall experience I would definitely recommend this hotel

We were given a two night stay at this hotel as a Golden Wedding treat. The hotel is beautiful. It's like a calm oasis in the middle of London. We were upgraded to room with kingsize bed. It was light and airy with plenty of storage space and good facilitles. In spite of being near a busy road we could hear no traffic noise. The bed was ultra comfortable and we had a great sleep both nights. We enjoyed a pre theatre lunch in the hotel which was delicious. Just one word of warning there is a compulsory service charge which bumps the cost up. This service charge applied to drinks taken in the tea lounge also. We had a coffee here because we wanted to experience the luxury of past times. We enjoyed a walk around the hotel taking in the history . All the staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated the private entrance from Victoria Station. The minute you walked through the door there was an air of peace and serenity. Thank you to everyone we met for making our weekend so special.

Dear Reviewer, Many thanks for your post and sharing your experience of our beautiful hotel. We were thrilled to be involved in making your 50th wedding anniversary celebration so special and you enjoyed our facilities. I also just wanted to clarify that our service charge is discretionary and not compulsory and I regret if this was not made clear by our team. Built in 1862 and recently refurbished we have held on to our Victorian Heritage and added a modern, contemporary twist and I really enjoyed your comment about our hotel being a calm oasis in the middle of London. Thank you once again and we do hope that you will return in the near future for another comfortable, memorable stay. Kind regards, Natasha

My mum and I recently stayed at the Clermont Victoria Hotel for 10 days in July as I had a few hospital appointments booked including a spinal procedure at Harley Street hospital. We have never stayed in this hotel before. We have only had a meal there and had a cup of tea when in London previously. This time we booked in here for our longer stay in London. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in London as it's close to London Victoria coach station so conveniently situated for arrival and departure by coach.

Marissa and Barbara on reception really looked after us so well. I can't thank them enough for all they did and for all their help.
They allocates me a room with a walk in shower because it would be easier following my back procedure. My mum has a severe feather allergy and they made sure there were no feather pillows, cushions or duvets in the room. We were looked after so well.

All our dietary requirements were catered for - wheat free, gluten free, yeast free, garlic allergy. The chef even adapted meals to ensure we wouldn't have any problems. Kelvin was so helpful in the restaurant. He was part of an excellent team.

The hotel is older but she's a grand old lady, very luxurious, full of history. Ask Marissa about the history. She is so friendly, fun, enthusiastic, knowledgable and makes history enjoyable!

If you need a taxi the front desk staff will order you one in advance. They can advise on travelling around and if they don't know they will find out information for you and let you know.

This is a very clean, friendly, warm hotel run by a team who are genuinely interested in their guests and want them to have a great stay and they all make you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are a wonderful team working in a wonderful hotel.

I have already booked to return for another week in September.

Disappointing stay.  Were were put up in a very basic room which had a view of Victoria station's roof sheds with excessive track noise despite the double window. The room was cramped and had no ironing board , a far cry from the expectations of a supposedly 4* star hotel room.

There was a lot of noise from refurbishment work from a floor upstairs.
When we enquired about the same, we were told that no work was carried out in that particular wing . On sharing the pics of the work, the team offered a room change. However, this was immediately forgotten conveniently  and the change happened only after multiple reminders.

During our entire duration of stay,  the staff at reception seemed to be overwhelmed by the workload. When there was no TV transmisson in the room , they hardly responded to calls  to the extent of being rude .

I finally complained to the guest relations manager and things changed post that. Suddenly, there was a lot of efficiency, politeness and regular updates .And , did i mention that our new room was much better that the earlier room.

The corridors smelt of paint. Not to mention a long walk to reach the room .Not recommended for elderly. We were frequently met by construction staff carrying paint/ bins/ladder etc.  All-in- all, a big let down.

But i must say, saving grace was the location and hotel's restaurant staff . The morning welcoming staff at the hotel restaurant were warm and friendly and lifted the spirits up with their demeanour .

Dear Reviewer, Thanks for your post which I was sorry to read. Your experience with us was not indicative of the usual high level of service and standards that we pride ourselves on. We have taken your feedback on board; clearly there are some issues that need to be addressed as a matter if priority. I was pleased however, that our Guest Relations Manager dealt with your concerns and moved you to an alternative room and I am sorry that this was not resolved more promptly. Your comments regarding our breakfast team are really appreciated and I do hope you will return on another occasion and allow us to showcase the true Amba Hotel Grosvenor. Kind regards, Natasha

After booking 4 rooms for 2 nights we arrived night 1 to find my wife cut her foot on broken glass in our room. When returning after dinner we were told coffee was not available in our room as the "restaurant" was closed! and they had no staff to make or deliver it. No coffee was available in the bar either as this was closed. The following morning my wife again cut her foot on more glass in our room carpet. The following morning we ordered room service breakfast, this never arrived (we were told by reception they had got the wrong room so took it back!) As the second lift we needed to take to get to our room was out of order on the day we left we were left to carry our cases down the stairs as no one again arrived to assist. After offering our disappointment in reception we were offered 20% off should we for some reason care to make a further booking! Our follow up e-mail to manager Barbara Dannibale was unanswered!

Lovely hotel with excellent access. We thought it could do with better signage, eg directions for the executive lounge and was the champagne bar even open? We paid extra to use the executive lounge which we thought was for a peaceful cup of coffee or glass of wine, but we were told it was also for our continental breakfast and if we wanted a full breakfast we would have to pay extra in the restaurant. We also paid for in room refreshments which was hot drinks and water, which we would expect as standard plus 2 cans of fizzy drink, so a bit disappointed with that. Room service was quick and friendly but food was only okay. That said we did love the hotel and our room which was an executive suite and thought it was good value for money.

Dear Reviewer, Thanks for your post on our lovely hotel; we appreciate your comments and have taken them on board. Our Executive Lounge offers that little extra touch of luxury in sedate surroundings with Continental breakfast and light evening snacks and drinks in the evening for guests on our Executive package. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel that provides you with the quintessential London feel this is it. The lobby is beautiful, the staff is friendly, inviting, and always willing to help. Its location next to the Victoria Station makes navigating the city a breeze. If the tube is not your cup of tea it is close enough you can walk to several landmarks like, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Churchill War Museum, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, etc. Truly can not say enough good things about this hotel. Definitely worth the money.

We arrived about 9am and despite the Hotel only opening at 12pm, Marissa let us in so we could leave our luggage, and it was in the room for us when we went back at 12:30pm. All the staff were very friendly. In the restaurant/bar Rebecca was amazing and looked after us so well over the three nights. Will visit again.

We spent three nights in London Victoria to celebrate a special occasion. Upon arrival the check in experience was excellent. The room was spotless, beautifully furnished and - following our booking request - perfectly quiet, despite being literally on top of a station.
Special thanks to the staff who was so attentive and professional throughout our stay - in particular Luke :)

We had 4 nights in The Claremont hotel. It was in a fantastic location central for all tourist venues and attractions we walked every day and found everthing we wanted to see just a short walk away. The Hotel is very grand inside immaculate& clean. We had a double room with king bed the room was perfect, the toilet and shower room was a bit small but enough to do the needy. The outlook we had was at the front of the building it was a city outlook to block accross the street tress etc (wasnt looking for scenery) the outside of the windows were a bit dirty.. But not an issue

We had b&b breakfast was buffett 2 days and table service 2 days food plentiful and tasty. Staff onsite were beautiful freindly and very helpful the manager was around and very helpful

Def recommend and we would return to this hotel again
