We stayed at the Hotel des Ducs for two nights in June 2022. We had a room in the annex which is a 5 minute walk from the main hotel where reception is located and where breakfast is served in the morning. Initially we were disappointed not to be in the main building but when we viewed our room and found that it was located only a short distance from the main hotel and just off the beautiful main square where the Palais des Ducs is, we were delighted. The room was modern, newly renovated with wood floors, ample space, A/C, a queen bed with a nice firm mattress, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. A coffee maker and coffee were provided. Everything was very clean. Breakfast (not included in our room price but well worth the 12 euros pp) was served buffet style in a lovely glassed-in terrace. It included eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, coffee/tea and delicious fresh baked goods. For other meals there were lots of restaurants close by and the hotel is well located right in the centre of all the sites you want to see when you visit Dijon. Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating and spoke good English. An elevator is provided. I would highly recommend this hotel.…
The Hotel des Ducs is right in the centre of Dijon and has a variety of room types. We took two of their apartment rooms for our family of five and thought they were very good value. The rooms are stylish and comfortable and are well represented by the photos on the website. The staff were very polite and spoke good English (vs my bad French!). Secure parking is available (though only for a few cars so make sure you prebook this) and the room prices are very good. We spent a similar amount on an Ibis hotel in Beaune and had rooms half the size of these ones.
The hotel is great with friendly helpful staff and very clean smart rooms. The breakfast room and breakfast are modern and well presented with everything you could ask for The rooms are surprisingly quiet for such a central location in a city . Would really recommend it , a lot better than some of the chains and not a lot more
We stayed again at the Hotel Ducs in the Loft room. The space was clean, comfortable, spacious. The location is the best in Dijon. When we entered the room, there was a strong cigarette smell - the staff brought an ozone machine over to clear the air which worked well. It turned out there is an area below the windows for that room where people smoke and it is a shaft above. The breakfast is served at the remote location where the check-in is. Note that if a taxi drops you off at check-in and you are staying in the Pres des Clercs building, you have about a 3 block walk to your room. Overall a good experience and we will likely return.
Well located with very easy access to the trail round the old town and plenty of cafés and restaurants close by. The bedroom was very quiet and ours was overlooking a courtyard so there was no danger of external noise being a nuisance. The only downside was that the on paper directions to the car park that we had to use were not much help. Had to rely on satnav, but that worked perfectly
- : Squeaky bed and noise in the hallways and in adjacent rooms. We paid for the hotel garage for 2 days (€ 13/DAY* on the website, we thought thus for 48 hours). We asked if it was possible to leave the car there until 14h (day of check out) because we arrived at 17h and payed officially for 2 days. This was immediately rejected in an impolite way of the women at the desk without any alternative from her side. So, we would not recommend the parking of the hotel. It’s cheaper to park the car in a garage nearby or on the street. All in all don’t expect to much help from the receptionist (lady). * They were going to adept the website. + : Ok hotel to stay. They adhere very well to the rules concerning COVID-19. At the check in the desired time of breakfast is asked to guarantee the social distancing. Everything was packed or is provide with single use grippers (bread, croissants,…) The room is not cleaned during your stay due to COVID-19.…
Great location adjoining the Place de Liberation, which is the heart of the historic district. We were in the Residence des Ducs, which is in another building around the corner from the main hotel, It only contains 7 units. It was excellent. It is down a little laneway off the Place de Liberation but very quiet. It was a short walk to all the historic sites, numerous shops and restaurants. The free city mini bus loops around town and can take you right to the train station. There is an elevator. Our room was very nicely appointed, with plenty of closet space, a kettle and bar fridge, air conditioning and heating. I would definitely stay again and recommend it.
This hotel is located directly in the city center within walking distance of many historical buildings and restaurants. The staff was friendly. The parking area is a bit further away from the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The measures for managing the pandemic situation was acceptable.
It’s very important to me to have an air conditioner that works, and this one sure did! The staff were helpful, too. The beds were comfortable EXCEPT for the pillow situation. I cannot sleep with my pillow so thick that my neck touches my chin. The staff were understanding, but couldn’t help. Breakfast was included and served basic needs: sausage, bacon (seems like Europeans like bacon less cooked than Americans), pre-scrambled eggs, lots of pastries, wrapped up bowls of cereal, yogurt and wrapped glasses of fresh fruit. My two complaints lowered the score. One is I specifically asked if there was a lift prior to booking. I had just injured my hip flexor and my boyfriend has an injured ankle. (Yeah, we are a sight! Haha). They said yes. The lift took us to the third floor. Great. But then you have to walk down 7 steps! And if you leave the hotel, back UP 7 steps! It would have been nice if they’d made a note in the reservation, especially since I had me turned this when booking. The second was this incessant buzzing. Maybe if you’re able to sleep (which I could not with the pillow), you don’t hear it, but it sounds like it’s coming from the doorbell. All.Night.Long. The location is VERY good and the price was good.…
Clean and nice hotel. Stylish decorated room/appartment. Parking space is not suitable for larger cars, We had booked a family room because of the presence of a bath but when we arrived they said that we got an upgrade towards a 6p appartment. Unfortunatley this was not an upgrade because it had a very small bathroom with only a shower and no place to put your toiletry bag.
