Sophie Gordon
September 4, 2007 - April 6, 2024
Charlotte, North Carolina - Sophie Gordon, a vibrant and beloved member of our Charlotte community, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 6th, 2024, at the age of 16. Born on September 4th, 2007 to Janina and David Gordon, Sophie was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her.
Sophie attended Myers's Park High School where she excelled academically and socially. Despite her young age, she was already taking college-level courses and balancing a part-time job. Her intellect and commitment to her studies were matched by her vivacious personality, which made her a well-known figure in her extensive social circles.
Sophie's sense of humor and magnetic personality made her a central figure in her community. She impacted many lives through her genuine interactions and her ability to bring laughter and joy to everyday moments.
Sophie is survived by her loving parents, Janina and David Gordon; her sisters, Victoria and Katrina; and her brothers, Andrew, Alex, and Matthew. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will miss her deeply.
The Gordon family welcomes Sophie's friends and community to join them in honoring her memory.
A funeral service to celebrate Sophie's life will be held Tuesday, April 16th, at 11am at St. Gabriel Church located at 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte NC. The service will be preceded by a reception at 10 am.
The family requests that flowers or donations be made to St. Gabriel Church in Sophie's memory. These contributions will honor her spirit by supporting the community that she loved so much.
Sophie's legacy of kindness, laughter, and community engagement will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her light, though gone too soon, will forever shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones.

Sophie had the most kind, generous and loving spirit. Her vibrant personality and her big, bright smile made her deeply beloved by the entire MPHS community and beyond. The sudden loss of Sophie just as she was blossoming into such a beautiful young lady is an absolute tragedy. Prayers also for Abby and Isabella.
