The truth about Dr. Pol children: Diane Pol Jr., Kathy Pol, Charles pol.

But there is more to Dr. Pol than meets the eye. He is also a family man, with a wife and several children.

Dr. Pol & Diane Pol‘s marriage is an inspiration to those who long to live with a single partner all life. The good doctor and Diane exchanged wedding vows in 1967, and after over 55 years, the relationship is still going strong. Even though the pair never gave birth to children it did not stop them from adopting. The pair adopted not one, not two but three children.
Alongside taking care of children the pair were able to balance their work life perfectly. The pair co-founded the “Pol Veterinary Service” out of their home in 1981. The veterinary care grew over the years and currently operating out of a larger facility in Weidman, Michigan, which provides service to over 20,000 clients. Also, the three children became part of the family business growing up helping around with animals and farm calls. Among the three children, Diane Jr is the eldest, Kathy Pol is the middle one, and Charles Pol is the youngest.
Adoption of Three Children
Pol couple adopted Charles and Kathy Pol right from birth. Kathy was the first to be taken in the family followed by Charles Pol. And then at the age of 9, Diane Pol Jr. joined the Pol household. It is such a heartwarming story of love and friendship as to how Diane Jr. came into the Pol family.
Joann, a close friend of Diane Pol, gave birth to a baby girl and named her Diane Pol Jr. in honor of their friendship. Joann was diagnosed with cancer in 1981 when Diane Jr. was still a child. Joann knew her days were numbered and she wanted her daughter to have both parents in her life, so she asked Diane Pol to adopt her. Sadly, Joann died when Diane Jr. was nine years old, and Dr. Pol and Diane Pol took her in as their own. That’s how Diane Jr. became part of the Pol family.
Kathy Pol:
Kathy was born Kathlene Pol on August 21, 1973, which makes her age 49 years old. She holds American citizenship and belongs to the caucasian ethnicity. Kathy was raised on a farm in Michigan where she learned about taking care of animals and helped her father on farm calls. She attended Chippewa Hills High School in Remus, Michigan, and following graduation, she enrolled at Delta College in Bay City, Michigan. She currently works as a Phlebotomist in the McLaren Bay Region.
Kathy Pol Husband and Children:
Kathy was married to Gregory butch for the longest time. After graduating from college, she and Greg tied the knot on July 30, 1995. In the years of conjugal life, the pair gave birth to two children Adam James Butch (born August 20, 1996) followed by Rachel Butch. The family of four lived in Bay City, Michigan. Greg worked as a Chemical technologist and everything was going well until he was diagnosed with cancer. After four years of battle, Greg passed away at the age of 50 on February 20, 2016.
More tragedy along the way:
Kathy was hit with tragedies one after another in the span of three years. First her husband then she had to bear the life of her young son perish. Adam James Butch died at the age of 23 on September 18, 2019. Adam was a Michigan State University Alum and a certified Pharmacy technician.
Kathy’s only remaining child is Rachel Butch. While she has not necessarily pursued a career in the TV industry, fame has found its way to her. As Dr. Pol’s granddaughter, Rachel appeared in two episodes of “The Incredible Dr. Pol.”
Moving on and finding solace in the arm of man:
Kathlene had a series of tragedies befall in a couple of years. We cannot begin to imagine the pain and sadness she must have gone through. Nonetheless, she was able to see past her dark days. She currently resides in Bay City, Michigan. After staying single for a long time she has found solace in the arms of a man. She is currently in a relationship with Thomas Rakowski.
Diane Pol Jr.
Diane Louise Pol is the eldest child in the Pol family. She is the biological daughter of Joann who passed away in 1982. Joann was diagnosed with cancer in 1981, and in desperate times, she trusted the responsibility of her daughter to Diane Pol. While Diane Pol was already raising Charles Pol and Kathy Pol she decided to show a big heart and took in Diane Jr who at the time was 9 years old. Even though not in the paper Diane Jr. lived as their child before officially getting adopted at the age of 18.
Diane Pol Jr. was born on March 27, 1973, the birthdate makes her 49 years old. She attended Chippewa Hills High School, the same school as her younger sister Kathy. She then joined Central Michigan University and graduated in 1996. Diane Jr. later joined Northeastern University where she studied Technical Writing & Communication.
Talking about her professional endeavors Diane Jr. worked as a technical writer at Oracle Hospitality. She then joined Holiday Inn & Suites Mount Pleasant as assistant manager. In the company, Diane worked her way up to manager and currently holds the position of Director of Sales.
Television career:
As the daughter of Dr.Pol, Diane Jr. finds herself in the media spotlight from time to time. She also has television credits in her own right. Diane Jr. made two episodes of appearances on “The Incredible Dr. Pol” from 2013-2016.
Diane Pol Jr. Weight Loss:
Diane indeed suffered from obesity and tried different methods to lose weight. She has been vocal about her weight loss journey, and by no means has she had it easy. After deciding to shed some weight, she accepted the surgery method. In addition to surgery, she underwent a strict diet plan and medication. However, Diane has not shared the amount of weight she lost. She continues to battle weight and wants to lose further weight. On January 3, 2023, in a Facebook post, she shared:
“It is time to jump start my stalled Weight Loss Journey. I have a short term and long term goal. Short term, look nice in my wedding dress; long term, get to my goal weight and live a longer, healthier life.”
Diane Pol Jr. is engaged soon to be married:
Diane Jr. is in a relationship with her to-be husband Ryan Lapham. After dating for some time the pair took the relationship a notch forward, Ryan popped up with a ring in December 2020. Even though the pair plan to get married in the future for now they have not shared the wedding date or venue.
Charles Pol
Charles Pol was born in Central Michigan’s farm country on March 6, 1979. The birthdate makes his age 43 years. Growing up in Michigan, Charles worked as his father’s sidekick as early as 5 years old. He used to assist Dr. Pol at the clinic, helping out on farm calls and taking care of the vast number of pets and farm animals. Charles loved working with animals but when the time came he was determined to make his own path. Thankfully, Dr. Pol & Diane Pol were not opposed to the idea, in fact, they encouraged him to pursue a career of his taste.
Charles wanted to have a career in the entertainment industry and right after graduating in communication from the University of Miami in 2003, he moved to Los Angeles. Thereafter he took internships in acting and production with reputed companies like Paramount Pictures, Parkway Production, and Mirage Enterprises during which he got a chance to learn from Hollywood legend, the late, Sydney Pollack.
Charles worked in production for some years before venturing into acting with his family show “The Incredible Dr. Pol”(2011). He is also known for the TV series The Legend of Sheriff Gus Skinner (2013) and Calling Dr. Pol (2014).
Charles Pol is currently married to Beth Pol and shares two children. Their eldest Abigail Pol was born on October 19, 2019, followed by Silas Pol on July 12, 2021.

Never lived on a farm, but did see a breach birth calf while visiting a farm in Connecticut in the 1960’s..our family has had rabbits, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, hamsters..always a love of the pets…
When this show appeared it was kismat, the birth of a cow or horse some might say was gross, but the children had compassion for the procedures being performed.. Love Dr Pol, wish I could bring my dog to him, he nvmis a 10 year old Golden with a dozen lumps on him some ,,size of golf balls and larger, been told they are just fatty lumps, but concerned about two of them, one under her neck and one wraps around back rear leg. Neither seems to bother him, runs and plays as usual. Was wondering if we could get some advise from Dr Pol. Our Boomer is like our child, we are both 75 yrs old and he is our family.

I record The Incredible Dr Pol. It is always my first choice among my recordings. i supper from being burned on my hand and arm. I went thru bouts of depression. My love for animals runs deep..always has.. I would love to visit and help in any way i could to help you and your family and team..I am a GREAT PA dutch cook and love to can and prepare for the winter..I live alone in Rebersburg (amish country) I am nearing retirement and am extremely bored. i would Larry and Otis are yorkie rescues and one very bad Golden Retriver pup…Please consider me!

Joan Caserta, what a life changer your show is. As a child this was my wish but at that time females were not vets. You see I am 85years young and right now my biggest wish is to meet Doc Pol. I know this is only a dream, but if we didn’t have dreams we would not have life May God bless you for all you do for animals and there care givers.

Hi all dr pol admirers from Melbourne Australia I am constantly checking tv networks to see if the series shall continue here in aus. I’m originally from Cortona Italia ( yes, where UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN” was filmed). At 55 now I relive my farm days in Italy as I immerse myself into the pol family and their lives. Dr pol is exactly like my dear father now in Heaven. The work ethics. Many uni degrees. Most caring loving family man. Dr pol and my dad are the same so I crave for next series to start in Aus but cannot find out WHEN OR IF? Series 5 eps seen but only a few and have saved them to re watch over and over. What an incredible man. What a perfect name” incredible dr pol and family staff all. You inspire us to be better people. I’m not a fan of anyone but admire this man for his trials and tribulations as a child so similar to my own dads. We cannot begin to comprehend what that era went thru and to be able to schive such goals from truly humble beginnings and remain humble tho so so successful is a rarity. Im addicted to watching the?show and have been for years. I have never owned an animal but have learned a lot. The family and staff are awesome. I am watching the marathon and it’s mostly all I have watched in over a week. Can’t wait for new season. Makes me want to be a vegetarian though. Almost. Love the empathy of the staff and owners. Adore them all. Charles hangs in there even when he gets kicked! A fan forever!
I watch Dr. Pol every chance I get. I am 70 years old and having alot of time on my hands, I discovered Dr. Pol on the National Geographic channeL You are such amazing people and do so much for all the animals that visit you. The love that Dr. Pol and his family have shown is truly an inspirational to all of us. Keep on doing your increible work…therefore the name of The Incredible Dr. Pol!

I now suffers from multiple myeloma and I feel great watching Dr. Lol because it brings back memories of my My Dad and how he did a lot of natural care with our cattle and horse’s. We live in Portland, Oregon. Bruce was my next door neighbor, when i moved next to after leaving an abusive marriage with my two young sons, I had no interest in love, just raising my boys, but I found a friendship and then a love. We adopted 7 more children, and 6 cats. Adoption is a garden of love where children grow! We taught adoption classes, shephering hundreds of other families finding their families.
I’m disabled now and in bed with migraines so fill my days with Dr. POL and love the love they have for each other and their animal patients, as the example of how to live; touching and being touched, Live, Love and be at peace, as God intended!

I love animals and I worked for two veterinarians in Houston it was a fantastic job so many different livings came into that clinic at Post Oak and Katy Road.

I have a 13 year old retired race horse his name is Donta. He has been having problems with absest on his feet all the time. Do you think I should put shoes on his front feet? It is costly for a horse.

I love watching Dr. Pol, it is my favourite show. When I moved home to Canada, I chose the tv provider that aired this showed. Also Dr. Pol, when my NY roommate’ s dog was very ill and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, my roommate said, “ Where is Dr. Pol when you need him. We love you!
