Charles A. Mullen III, age 73, of Amesbury, passed Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Paula J. Zaniboni.
Born in Lynn, February 6, 1948, he was the eldest of eleven children of the late Charles A. Mullen Jr. and Margery G. (Patterson) Reynolds.
After graduating from high school, Chuck enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving our country from November 1, 1966 until his honorable discharge on October 19, 1972 as Staff Sergeant.
Returning home following his military service, he continued his education, graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor's Degree in Science. Chuck pursued a lifelong career in computer programming having worked for John Hancock Insurance Company for most years and briefly for IBM and Rocket Software before retiring six years ago.
Chuck loved and studied music. For over 25 years he sang with the local chorus of Greater Lynn, The Concert Singers. He was an active Board member twice elected President. He was patient, kind and loving and a well-loved man.
In addition to his wife, Paula, he also leaves behind nine siblings, Melody A. O'Hare, Carol A. Mullen-Maguire, Leslie J. Zayac, Brian W. Mullen, Maureen D. Duncan, Eileen Mullen, Sean C. Mullen, Stephanie Mullen and Heidi Kluge, along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen O'Connell.
Service Information: Due to continued restrictions pertaining to Covid-19, there will be no services. Donations may be made in memory of Chuck to the Northeast Animal Shelter, Salem, MA. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.

I remember Chuck very well from my time with the Concert Singers. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Paula and family and friends. May he rest in peace. He will surely be missed.
