This is a review of the new vinyl release and not the content on the album which is the same as the original release in 1981. I received the Blue vinyl version. I have the original RCA release as I do all of David Bowie's albums. I have put my originals into the personal "hall of fame," and I am enjoying living my childhood collecting the new vinyl. The album looks great including the reproduction of the original inner sleeve. The remastered songs sound very good. Fashion was so clear that the beat shook the pictures on my wall. While I had some issues with the first few albums released by Parlophone, the recent vinyl releases have met my expectations.

Rob from Streetlight Records was super sweet, and when he'd accidentally mixed up my order and sent me a CD instead, he was super nice and sent me the record at no extra charge, and even let me keep the CD! I ended up getting the blue vinyl version so that was a pleasant surprise. I wanted this album for Starman mainly. The rest of it is mostly weird late 70's early 80's Bowie, but this is expected from Bowie, who I'm just recently getting in to. Changes One Bowie is my favorite greatest hits album by far.

I'm deducting one star for the quality of the pressing. Overall it's good for the price I paid, but it's slightly off center and results in a steady light "click" every two seconds when the tone arm has to go from outward momentum to inward momentum. There are no skips, but this is on a decent Project Debut Carbon tunable with the Ortofon Red cartridge. I could see people having potential skips with a higher mass tone arm.

ChangesTwoBowie along with ChangesOneBowie are possibly the two must have compilation Bowie albums for David Bowie fans to own out of them all.

Other Bowie compilation albums might be more comprehensive and cheaper but it was these two albums that influenced a lot of new fans back in the day, showcasing Bowie's talent superbly at the time. ChangesTwoBowie doesn't follow the usual compilation format, instead it flips the tracks about in a random order giving a snap shot of Bowies entire career at the time from when he really became well known.

All tracks like the fairly recently released ChangesOneBowie CD feature the latest ( At the time of this review ) re master which will either delight or infuriate some depending on particular personal views of all the different re masterings of Bowie's back catalogue.

I bought this because I never had ChangesTwoBowie on CD in my collection so this re release has filled an important gap for me. Some will see it as a cash in on Bowie death and I can certainly see the logic in that argument, however in this case I can make an allowance because it's such an important Bowie compilation album to David Bowie fans which hasn't been available to us for some years.

Perhaps if your a new fan wanting to discover Bowie's music for the first time? Then perhaps one of the more comprehensive Bowie compilations out there would be the better way to go.

Ormai di Bowie si stampa e si ristampa di tutto. Questa raccolta non è essenziale ma chi vuole avere tutta la discografia del Duca Bianco e vuole tentare la fortuna (poi vi dico perché) deve prenderla!
E' la seconda raccolta ufficiale pubblicata nel 1981 e riprende la struttura dell'album ChangesOneBowie, ma all’epoca non ottenne il successo di quest'ultimo. Per un brevissimo periodo ristampato su CD dalla RCA nel 1985 (in seguito ai conflitti di Bowie con la RCA) non fu più ristampato e sarebbe rimasto sicuramente solo oggetto dei collezionisti senza la morte dell'artista.
Nel 1990 le due compilation sono state unite dalla Rykodisc in un doppio album dal nome ChangesBowie ma mentre i brani di ChangesOneBowie vengono riportati tutti i brani di questa raccolta sono tutti sostituiti tranne alcune eccezioni.

Ma veniamo a questa ristampa della Parlophone del 2018 appena arrivata e prenotata da esattamente tre mesi (ad un prezzo che all’inizio era eccezionalmente basso, chissa poi perché…).
Da segnalare tra i brani tutti oggi famosi "Jonh I'm Only Dancing" (Again) del 1975 completamente diversa dalla prima stesura e che non è presente in alcun album ufficiale dell'artista.
L'album è fedele all’originale anche nella busta interna proteggi vinile che riporta le “pubblicità” dell’epoca degli album di Bowie da un lato e la pubblicità con cover a quadri dell’album ChangeOneBowie
All’apertura del disco subito la sorpresa, stranamente non pubblicizzata da Amazon: il vinile del disco color blue traslucido! Infatti il vinile può essere sia nero che blue, ma il responso solo all’apertura della confezione (stessa idea utilizzata per la ristampa ChangesOneBowie).
Unico appunto negativo: amazon non offre l'"autorip" per l'acquisto del vinile mentre è stranamente disponibile per il CD.
In ogni caso acquisto MOLTO CONSIGLIATO e in bocca al lupo, se cercate il vinile colorato!
