Chancel Mbemba is a Congolese footballer who has featured for teams like Newcastle and FC Porto.
He has been drawn into a public scandal after reports of age manipulation throughout his career.
According to rumors, his current club FC Porto will not renew because he has lied about his age his whole career.
The center-back, who appeared in over 50 games for Newcastle between 2015 and 2018, was previously thought to be 27 years old but he has revealed to close pals that he was born in 1990, making him 31.
Mbemba’s age has been a source of contention for many years, ever since a 2013 inquiry showed four different birth dates during his career. The earliest year of birth considered was August 1988, making him 33 years old now.

Porto has apparently refused to extend his current contract beyond the summer as a result of this knowledge.
AC Milan is also apparently interested in signing Mbemba this year but maybe turned off by his now-inflated age.
The defender allegedly falsified his age while completing a transfer from Congo to Belgian club Anderlecht in 2012.
