Address
Neighborhood: Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
How to get there
  • Oxford Circus • 4 min walk

Had a lovely time in Cavendish square at the street festival . Sun was shining , loads of delicious street food and 🍺 ! For entertainment I watched stand up comedy in the tent from Underbelly . Oh and the sqyate is right next to John Lewis where the roof terrace restaurant is amazing !

Cavendish Square & Gardens are a quick walk off regent street and are a wonderful place to sit during the day (or for lunch) in a quiet spot of London! They offer many different people and a great spot to get away from it all! Had a pleasant walk through with a friend!

Cavendish Square is an old aged square decorated with many architectural buildings and a nice garden in the centre. Unfortunately, they have built a car park underneath it which means a lift has been installed at one of the entrances. It doesn't really look that attractive however, it doesn't extensively damage the aesthetics of the area.

Cavendish Square is a large square a little north west of Oxford Circus. It was conceived in 1717 as the centrepiece of a large Marylebone Estate by the Earl of Oxford to include a sumptuous mansion which was never built. Some of its Georgian mansions that were built on the southern side were destroyed in the Blitz and which now features the rear of the John Lewis department store. Some historic buildings remain including what is now the headquarters of the Royal College of Nursing once the home of the Liberal PM Herbert Asquith. Two impressive mansions on the north side both with portico columns are currently unoccupied and are hopefully being refurbished. There are large gardens in the middle of the square the view of which from the southern and western sides is marred by the concrete entrance to an ugly underground car park constructed in 1971.

We went here to make a couple of phone calls to be away from the noise.
It’s a nice little well kept square with good shade and park benches to sit on.
It was quiet allowing us to make our calls.
There is an underground car park beneath the square.
There’s the usual people sleeping rough just like any other city.
Nice place just to chill out away from the hustle bustle of the centre of London.

Cavendish Square is a public square closer to Oxford Circus and Regents Park. There's not much here to see really. There's some nice buildings, some embassies. The square also contains Cavendish Square Gardens, which is based nice green park with statues and benches to sit on. Not a must see not be much to see, so don't go out of your way unless you really really want to see the Embassy of East Timor or statues.

A pleasant square with an underground parking lot which is pretty expensive, roughly 50 pounds for several hours.

We stopped here to rest and get out of the hot sun. The is a very nice little park that is totally shaded and has lots of benches to sit. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon and the park was full of people reading and chatting and even napping. Several people had their dogs with them. Wonderful!

Located close to Oxford Circus, where Oxford Street and Regent Street meet, the overall area is well laid out and very tidy, nice to chill for a while.
