The Diocese of Knoxville is geographically vast, covering 36 counties in East Tennessee. The diocese has 51 parish and mission churches spread throughout rural areas, small towns, and larger cities– Knoxville, Chattanooga, Crossville, Kingsport, and Johnson City. There are roughly 70,000 registered Catholics living and worshiping in our diocese – and we have nearly doubled in size since our diocese was created by St. John Paul II in 1988.
