After a long day of travelling from Italy to Spain, we were invited to join the Barcelona Food Tour that evening. Being a natural foodie, I couldn't think of a better way of spending our first night in Barcelona sampling some of the finest Catalan traditions!
The meeting place was very easy to find in the Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter) district. Kaye, the tour operator, was waiting at the meeting place at the designated time. Kaye led us through the winding streets of the Barri Gòtic and took us to about 4 eateries that evening. To this day, I still rave about my first taste of Catalan food on this tour! Everything we ate was very fresh and only of the highest standard. The stand out dishes for me was the Sobrasada con Tronchón, white anchovies in vinaigrette, foie gras with blueberry jam and the divine gelato we had to cap of the night. Plus quality vino always accompanied our dishes!
Although it's a food tour, you also get a history lesson from Kaye who is equipped with extensive knowledge of Barcelona and Spain in general. We often stopped at important places in between restaurants where Kaye would explain the significance of a particular building and the like. Kaye also gives you tips and tricks to sustain you for the rest of your Barcelona visit such as where to find proper paella and churros.
I highly recommend this tour!

Despite arriving late our guide (Kaye) made us feel very welcome and we began immediately! Kaye knows a lot about food and a lot about food in Barcelona. Through friendly conversation between locations Kaye helped us learn about the city's history, culture and gastronomical offerings. There was a lot of good food and drink at every stop.. seriously-- we ate SO MUCH awesome cuisine and there was a wine pairing with each dish. If you are on the fence because of the cost I'd say definitely go for it-- you will know exactly where that money went by the end of the night.
Thanks Kaye!

P.S. We did this tour in June so this is kind of a late review. Might tell you something about how awesome the experience was.

A friend and I took this tour on May 24th. Kaye was an exceptional guide, hosting an intimate group of 8 through the streets of Barcelona tasting local favorites. Kaye was sure to ask if there were any special diet considerations or preferences before the tour started. The food selection was outstanding. Before we left any of our stops, Kaye made sure we all had our fill so that no one left hungry. Wine was included at all the stops and towards the end of the tour, we stopped at a popular winery and by then it felt like a night out with friends instead of a tour. After the tour, Kaye recommended a hip bar right on La Rambles, and joined us for cocktails. During the duration of our trip, we used a list of restaurants Kaye recommended throughout the city. All were phenomenal. I've been on 4 other food tours, both in the US and Europe, and this has been my favorite so far. The company, atmosphere, and food made for one of the best evenings I've had in Barcelona.

Our guide did not provide the food that was advertised on the web site. She ended the tour after 3 hours when it was supposed to be 4 hours. She told us very little about the places we saw on the walking part of the tour. It seemed that she was just a substitute when they didn't have a regular guide.

Hi,
This was our third choice for a walking tour because the other two we were not available on the dates that we wanted.
Also, we didn't do the main Barcelona Food Tour. Instead we did one of the other tours offered from the main website called - Gotico Walking Brunch.
The tour was ok. It covers the basics of a food tour. We went to local shops, we tried lots of different types of food and we walked through the Gotico quarter.
There wasn't much emphasis on history of the area or the history of the food itself which was a big disappointment for us as this is something we had hoped for more of.
TBH - we probably just picked the wrong tour for our tastes. So my recommendation is if you want a basic food tour this would be fine. But if you want something with more history of the area and history of Spanish/Catalan food then try a different one.
Regarding the price - I've done food tours in Rome and other cities and I felt that the Gotico Walking Brunch wasn't really good value for money.

Went on this tapas walking tour a few hours after arriving in Barcelona. Kaye was a knowledgeable and gracious host. Great walk through the Gothic quarter and the Born District, saw things she pointed out I would have missed on my own. Wine was delicious, cava especially. Excellent intro to local food and customs.

This was the second time we did this tour - this time with our daughter and her husband. This time around was at least as good and probably even better. Maybe because of Laura (who was wonderful) or maybe the food/wine just clicked better. This is a wonderful mix of history, different kinds of food, and excellent wine. We have done food and wine tours in many places and this is upt there with the best.

Thank you for choosing us to show you the best food and drink one more time! Glad to hear that Laura did very well. Keep in touch. All the best.

We did this tour last night. It was really enjoyable. We got a nice mix of history and Catalan culture along with interesting and delicious food and wine. Kaye was great. The small group (only two couples) made it especially nice. Highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Kaye was a great help, before, during and after our tour. The food on the tour was great, and the small group was the perfect size.

Absolutely the highlight of our Barcelona trip. You have no idea what you're missing if you skip this!! KeKe was delightful. We started as strangers and left as friends with our small group. Loved wandering the gothic quarter tasting amazing food and wine. More than enough to go around and you'll leave feeling full and smiling. Loved letting someone else help pick tastes of all the tempting tapas. Keep an open mind and treat your taste buds!! Well organized and well worth it!!!

Hello, this sounds wonderful! However the website link appears to be broken. How did you contact this food tour company? Everyone here mentions "Kaye" did you ask for her specifically?
Thanks in advance!
