Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). I ordered a chicken burger at the bar and instead i was served a beefburger. Without noticing what they brought me i put ketchup and took a bite when i suddenly realized it was not chicken. I called the bartender Matias and informed him that i ordered a chicken burger and not a beefburger and asked him to change it and he looked at me and said “but i cant change it now since you put ketchup inside”. I looked at him wondering since i had taken a bite and said “why would you have taken it to someone else if i hadnt?” After a tense conversation and insisting that i demand its changed he brought me the chicken burger which i had ordered but this time it was filled with caramelized onions which i had specifically stressed i didnt want but with an extra layer of cheese on top for me not to see the onions. O decided not to say anything and sat there picking out the onions to be able to eat and before i even started eating he brought me the bill and said here is your bill whereas i hadnt asked for it. All the other people sitting on the bar were not being served their bill without requesting it. I am extremely disappointed by his attitude as well as the quality of service considering this is a casino bar where all sorts of people go and play a large amounts of money. Matias behaviour and customer service was unacceptable and he truly shouldnt be allowed to work in the hospitality industry.

Really poor returns from the slots. We play slots regularly at various casinos and obviously you don't always expect to win but to regularly receive wins of less than 5 euros in bonus rounds when your wagering 1 euro per shot is not right.
We called it a night when we received a total bonus win of 1 euro three times in a row after spending around 50 euro to get the bonus.
The only positive is that the bar meals are decent.

We were visiting the city and used the free vouchers that we got from the bus tour company. The tour guide that the casino was open 24 hours and we figured we would visit it after dinner.
Not being a frequent visitor of casinos it is hard to benchmark it. At reception we were greeted with a friendly receptionist who took our ID (you need a driving licence or a passport).
On the ground floor of the casino they had slot machines and digital roulette tables. In the basement they had the poker tables, roulette tables, and the bar area.
All in all the experience was okay but I am not sure I would want to pay admission as a casual tourist visitor. You can download a voucher online.

Sadly this review will be of the experience that I had just steps inside the door of the casino. My girlfriend and I walked in on our last night in Barcelona expecting a great experience after checking the reviews. The two young ladies at the front checked our IDs and then looked me up and down. One of the ladies then asked us to wait while she checked if I could get in with my Adidas flip flops on. She picks up a phone and then speaks to someone for about 2-3 minutes in Catalan while the other gave me multiple dirty looks. After the call the young lady states that I need closed shoes to enter and that beachwear was not permitted. I was fine with that, until. My girlfriend and I stepped back out and contemplated me going back to our room to change shoes. Before we could even come to a decision we witnessed 3 males in the span of 5 minutes walk in with walmart style thong flip flops, show their ID and be granted access to the casino. They were not required to have closed shoes as their beachwear was acceptable. These men were Caucasians. No calls were made. Now I have to say that I don't know if this was racially or nationally motivated but it didn't sit well. It put a slight damper on the evening but it wasn't ruined completely. Was this call made because we were black, Americans or a combination of the 2? We will never know now. All because of my flip flops?

Casino is close to the sea which is nice.
First of all it is small.
In addition the personel is very not nice or pleasant.
We have been in lot of casinos in the world, and we always enjoyed losing a little bit of money. This time we did not (enjoy).
This is the only casino in the world where at black jack you have to play in the box which is exactly at the same position as your seat (even if the seats are not aligned with the boxes, then you have to count..)
If you don’t, and an other player comes (even if he stands) and puts some money on you, if he puts more, it turns to be his play and he decides to pull a card or not.
SO ANNOYING !
Only answer of the personel was « here it works this way, the one with the more money leads the turn ».
At least 3 persons were caught with this crazy rule and left very pissed off.
Personel of the rulette was not nicer.
Last thing is that all the black jack tables with less than 20$ per turn use screen and have no jetons.
Was a frustrating evenig, i recommend to avoid

We are really sorry that you felt this way, but our blackjack rules are the ones that you were told when you came here. The person who is sitting is the one that takes the decision. If nobody is sitting, then is the person who bet more money. The croupier might have explained them to you before playing; that would have avoided you such a bad or disappointing experience. You have to understand that if we had no rules, it would be impossible to play to our games, as there are many people here.
We need to tell you that our staff gives its best to make our client's experience in our casino the best it can be. We are sorry if it was not like this when you came yesterday.
We offer Blackjack in iTables (without jetons) to offer different ways of playing, to adapt our games to our customers.
Again, sorry for the inconveniences. We can assure you that if you come again the experience will be much better.

Apart from the People working in poker room who seems nice i have never met ruder and incompotent dealers at black jack table and pit bosses. They paid me for black jack, mucked my 2 loosing hands then realised dealer also got black jack. Next hand the pit boss who is very rude came over and asked for 45 eros back. I requested to speak to overall manager and he was no better. Any casino in the world would have let me keep the money especially when i lost on 2 other hands and all cards mucked and new hand dealt. I love playing black jack but will never play here again and advise anyone else not to as well. Shockingly rude and incompotent.

I’ve visited casinos on several continents and not a single one is close to being as bad as Casino Barcelona. Everything is overpriced, even water which is odd for a casino. The service is a bad as humanely possible. Security agents push you over when walking by. You can wait 30mins to buy a bottle of water while at the bar. I mean this place is so bad its insane. Probably only makes money during poker events in the summer because I see no reason to ever step inside except for that reason.

We are sorry that you got that impression when you came. These crowded days we are more strict with our security staff to guarantee that all is under control. In fact, all our staff do its best to offer our clients a pleasant and fun time. I have been to this casino on several occasions over the past few years. They offer standard table games including black jack. I have played black jack there but only when I was waiting for a poker table. The poker room is good and has different stakes to suit all kinds of players. The patrons are a mix of locals and people in Barcelona on holiday / business. The only drawback is the game ends at some point in the morning. Remember to bring your passport as you will need it to gain entrance.

After playing a machine for 197 spins yes I counted them. Machine paid out 3 times total of 18 euro.
The black jack the house one 7out of ten hand. I played for about 40 minutes.
there also seems to be a lot of people whom look like the are working for the casino and jump on black jack tables to play illogical way. Like not drawing when they have 9.
In general the place stinks of a scam. Stay away
