Our Family Group stayed here. The rooms are old and smell wet. The bathroom showers have mildew, mold, and other fuzziness that was truly Gross! We had to spend 5 nights here. If our rooms had not been prepaid for months, I would have checked out and taken my family elsewhere. This was one vacation that I was glad to have over with so that we could go home. Too bad we didn't know about Trip Advisor before we booked. I really value the Reviews. Book elsewhere, trust me.

This is my family's fourth time visiting and it has gone downhill a lot. Stayed in a kitchenette and we were very clean (washed all dishes right after eating, left no food around, emptied garbage right away) and was over-run by roaches.

Housekeeping staff only did a sloppy job making up the room and did not change the sheets. The last time I was here the hotel brought out chairs for their guests to the beach, not any longer--you have to rent them from some private company.

The only saving graces are the location and the balconies.

I venture to say the land is worth more than the building that sits on it. VERY old motel (hotel actually has amenities!). Room had to have a/c AND DEHUMIDIFIER, bathroom looked like it was from the 60's (which I'm sure was original to the property). Balcony view of the beach was great, but the balcony door never locked properly. Room was very damp even with the dehumidifier, WiFi either didn't work or was non existent. Bed was hard as a rock, and room smelled of cigarettes even though it was non smoking. Parking lot was far too small and crammed for the property. I stayed there on a stop for a businesses trip, but I was up and gone for 5AM, not because I had to be but because I just couldn't take the noise from the dehumidifier, the rock of a bed, and the smell anymore. I imagine this place is good for families on a serious budget or college kids, but I won't be back for sure.

I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE. Way overpriced for poor quality hotel rooms. The room and bathroom were dirty. One of the counters still had old cheese on it from a previous stay. The shower pressure was terrible and the water temp constantly fluctuated. Our shower drain was clogged and wouldn't drain (which they did attempt to fix). We saw a roach in the bathroom one night. Wifi connection was poor and unusable. The walls/ceilings are thin so you could hear guests conversations next door, and people stomping on the floor above us. One morning it sounded like they were moving furniture! Also, there was maintenance being done one room down from us so we were woken up every morning to the sound of clanking metal. The parking lot and parking spaces were incredibly small. Some people had to park in the grass or off the curb. If you have a pickup truck or an SUV, good luck.

I paid $150 a week-night (last one left through orbitz). The price should be closer to $130.
The problem is that there are no other super cheap hotels with a view of the ocean. No competition at that price point for a property in such condition.
The kids will never forget the shower. Water temperature fluctuates.
It's not that someone flushes, and then you can wait a few seconds, oh no, the water is constantly ever changing, could scald a small child.
The shower head is shorter than I am. I'm 5'4 and I had to squat. I thought about taking a chair from outside, but it would make it harder to get out of the way when the water gets hot.
My son is 6'3. He called me cheap. Yea, I take pride in that.
My daughter told me to write a review stating, "don't shower if you want a nice stay."
Toilets flush well. Walmart style stick/bar that you push with your foot.
Two ice makers 1st floor by check in.
NO BATHROOM by pool that I could see. To me this is a warning sign that kids go #1 in a pool. Sometimes mom get lazy and don't want to take kids up 4 floors to go potty.
Pool is not closed off to the public. Seemed to have a local family there. Where did they go potty?
Parking spots are very tight. Lots of very large pick up trucks. I avoided the first row of parking and I had a subcompact. Careful parking on edges (you'll know what I mean), large trucks have trouble making the sharp turns. One mustang got hit by a pick up truck wanting to park in that first row. Park a little crooked if you park on first row, or you might not be able to get into your car unless you roll down the windows and crawl in.
Wi-fi was completely unusable in room/balcony. But good in common areas pool/parking lot. Sounds like rooms in the middle of hotel are better (maybe first floor). Ask when checking in if this is important.
No microwave which I never use anyway. Had coffeemaker.
Only one lamp in bedroom room. (I like bright rooms).
After a rain it seemed the water/gulf got seaweed.
Positive:
Staff is professional. Stairs are not bad (no elevator on property). Ceilings in hotels are normal/short, so stair climbing is easy.
All rooms are ocean front.
Fridge is larger, not the little cube. But, the plug is old, and our fridge unplugged overnight. Room floor was wet (defrosted).
Floors are tile. For the first time in years, my white socks stayed white while walking in a hotel room.
Beds were ok. Pillows were clean. Room was clean.
Fourth floor room (top). If you stay on a room to a side, you can see the coast. Stay in the middle section and all you can see is beach.
AC is digital so you can set it to the number you want. Not that old.
The heated pool will be a great memory (awesome). The spanish style of bathroom is beautiful. The garden areas are relaxing.
We met budget. That's the best memory of all.

Stayed here during the Emerald Coast Cruzin car show Nov. 13-15. The good......Got a great rate and front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Had a problem with the safe in the room and maintenance arrived and fixed the problem within minutes. All rooms face the gulf with a beautiful view. The floors are tile so felt clean. Beds okay but pillows not so much. The not so good......No lighting except for a lamp on the table between the beds and one over the sink. Had a problem with hot water....didn't have any the second day of our stay. Heat in our room never worked. As the temps were in the 40's at night could have used some heat. Door to the patio basically fell apart when I opened it to admire the beautiful view. Almost never got it closed again. No elevator so would be difficult if you had mobility issues. Overall seemed sad and rundown. Definitely need a lot of TLC. In their defense, they are doing some renovations to the property. Not sure if I would stay again until property was completely renovated. Not complaining just my honest opinion.

I nearly cancelled my reservations here because of the reviews I read on this site. I will say they are most certainly uncalled for. My husband and I travel on a loose budget I will say, we try to find a good, clean hotel at a decent price and spend the rest on having fun. This hotel was in a perfect location. It was in the middle of all the attractions and was right on the beach. There was less than 10 people in viewing distance every time we went out to the beach. The patio/pool area was very clean and towels were always available. The hotel itself is an older hotel and by no means is it a "fancy 5 star" place. But our bed was clean, mattress was clean (I checked), balcony and chairs were clean. Fridge and microwave were awesome since the hotel doesn't offer breakfast. Floors were tile so no nasty carpet. A lot of complaints expressed the shower being cold.... I assume the problem is just older plumbing. We allowed the water to run for around a minute before getting in and it was nice and hot. As far as the parking lot complaints, it's not as big as say a mall parking lot, but any adult with a drivers license shouldn't have a problem, if you do, maybe traffic school is needed. I had two problems with the place. One was petty, there's no outlet in the bathroom so using a hair dryer/straightener was a problem. The other was the front desk clerk at checkout seemed to be offended that I interrupted her Facebook or whatever she was doing on her cell phone when I went into the office to check out. It was definitely uncalled for. But on the flip side, the lady who helped me check in was great. Allowed me to check in early (very thankful after a 12 hour drive) and she was helpful with locating things to do/places to eat. All and all, it's everything anyone needs to have a good time.

One of the worst places I've ever stayed on vacation. The rooms were extremely outdated, multiple damages, and I felt the need to wear flip flops every time I showered. Cockroaches were found in rooms of other guests and housekeeping didn't come half the time. When they did come, they would only knock on the door to see if we needed anything and then complain out loud when asked to come back after we left the room. The women in the office were rude and not welcoming at all. Overall, very disappointed.

We came down for my boyfriends 21st birthday & we were able to fit 5 of us in the room. Everything was clean & towels/soaps were replaced daily. We were even able to get some extras since there were a lot of us. Only thing I would change about the housekeeping is either leaving a cheap little broom in each room for us to do it or havig housekeeping sweeping daily.. There was A LOT of sand & it was never swept :( There was perfect wifi last time I stayed in the middle of the building, but this time we were at the end of the building so there was no wifi at all. Showers really do go from freezing to scalding but from the looks of the managements responses to these, they've implemented some changes, so hopefully this little slice of paradise is even more perfect :) Ive been staying here every vacation for 2 1/2 years! the price is too perfect for the view & the location! The only terrible thing about this place was Betty Spence, but by the looks of it, she no longer works here! We can't wait to be here in 2 short months!!!

I have stayed at Casa Loma twice, A friend told me about it a few years ago when I was looking for a place in PCB and after reading reviews of all the hotels I was weary of any of them. I am a single parent and needed an inexpensive place to stay. After looking it up on the web I loved the pictures and decided to book. I was even more surprised to see the room was exactly like the pictures. No its not a 5 star hotel, but it was clean and comfortable and had a amazing view from the picture window and balcony, Yes there were palms trees in the view, but this is Florida people and I love palms trees. Everybody was very nice and friendly and the maids came round every day. But that doesn't matter to me because I Prefer to clean up my own room so we didn't need anything from them except towels. Yes I was on vacation but I can bag my own garbage. No fridge or micro in the standard rooms, but the wine cooler kept our drinks cold and with the money I didn't spend on a more expensive room I was able to eat out at any of the great places I wanted to. Honestly people on here are such Whiney brats You got a beach view room on one of the most beautiful beaches in the World for next to nothing and you cant say anything nice. Please. Im proud I didn't meet any of you people on my stay here. Oh and going on spring break to Party Capital, please you were just asking for it!
Yall people need to get over yourself and stay somewhere else, there are those of us who like to stay here!

They vary! When you enter the parking lot you are on the second floor already. You go down one to two floors to the beach or up a couple of floors. All rooms are quite large in size and they open from front of parking to the back towards the beach. Only slight issue I had was the bathrooms are a bit small but hey that's okay too!
