Prince William’s Recent Outing With Kate Middleton’s Mother Carole Shows the Strength of Their Bond

Prince William has not had a great start to 2024 with Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis. As any caregiver knows, it can be exhausting to be strong for everyone around you while trying to attend to the kids, work, and the family member who needs you the most during a difficult time. That’s why it’s sweet to hear that the Prince of Wales took some time out for himself with Carole Middleton.

Both of them are likely shouldering much of the household burden, so their reported trip to a pub in North Norfolk over the weekend. seemed like the perfect way to unwind. The Daily Mail spoke with a patron who revealed just how simple and wholesome the situation was. “It was all very low-key, with no great fanfare,” they shared. “He just walked in and through the pub. He appeared to be with Carole Middleton.”

Catherine Middleton is seen arriving with her mother Carole Middleton (R) and sister Pippa Middleton (L) at the Goring Hotel, where she will spend her last night as a single woman ahead of the royal wedding on April 28, 2011 in London, England.

This news shouldn’t surprise royal fans because Carole has been a consistent presence in her daughter and son-in-law’s lives. She and husband Michael Middleton live close by to Adelaide Cottage at Windsor, so they can regularly interact with their three grandchildren, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. “Her parents are an enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren,” a royal source told People. “And they will be a reassuring presence when she goes back to Windsor to recuperate.”

The fact that William and Carole can relax together during a tough family crisis shows how everyone is leaning on each other for support. “He is a very reliable, strong person. She doesn’t feel isolated in this because of William, who is right beside her,” a second source told the outlet. “This is about supporting her and her feeling supported. It is a joint effort. She doesn’t feel isolated at all. The nuclear family that they have created so well is an immense support not only to him but to Catherine too.”

Not everyone has an easy relationship with their mother-in-law, so Prince William is one of the lucky ones who has help coming from both sides of the family. And of course, they all share one goal: getting Kate back to full health as soon as possible.
