      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Planes has enough bright colors, goofy voices, and slick animation to distract some young viewers for 92 minutes -- and probably sell plenty of toys in the bargain -- but on nearly every other level, it's a Disney disappointment.

Ryland C THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!! Sure people may hate it but I DONT CARE! BEST SPINOFF EVER! BEST PIXAR MOVIE EVER! AND BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!! I LITERALLY CRIED WHEN I SAW THIS MOVIE IN THEATERS!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Артем Ð Okay, maybe my opinion is overrated just because I watched it so many times when I was little. However, now when watching it, I understand how boring it is.I believe that this is a very average film that is a pure tracing paper Cars. Some scenes seemed to me too long or too boring, of course some scenes could make me laugh as a child and now, but unfortunately there are not many of them. There is little to say about this movie because it cannot be compared to the same Cars from Pixar because it is simply not pulls.Even the character of the protagonist in "Planes" was not at the level of the character of the protagonist of "Cars".Of course, here is another story about a loser who will defeat everyone, because it is important to believe in yourself and that mentors can be a good . The main thing is that the plane is good.If this is the first cartoon in your life (like mine), then the film may even seem interesting to you. But again, if you compare it with others, you will understand how it is not so exciting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Dinos K It's the CARS but...... WITH PLANES!!!!! Wow, so clever and original NOT Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Charles J I saw this in 2013 when it came out because I thought "planes" would be like "cars." But what it was actually was one of the most boring, trite, and uninteresting films I've ever seen. It has absolutely no merits whatsoever. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/24 Full Review Jaimy D Other than the weird and predictable ending it was still fun to watch if u loved the Cars series. Good visuals and a relatable storyline makes this movie allright. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Songer K Before I say what I say, no, this is not a ripoff of Cars, because Disney made both Cars and Planes. Anyways, I don't like this film. Why? Because of a bad plot, and has a slightly worse concept than Cars. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk Essentially, it's Cars retold with planes. Small, undiscerning kiddies will probably love it and demand the DVD on repeat; adults will be nosediving into their popcorn with boredom. Rated: 2/5 Sep 5, 2017 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times In the skies, as on tarmac, this remains the world's most fossil-fuel-friendly franchise. Rated: 3/5 Aug 23, 2013 Full Review Guy Lodge London Evening Standard For "international", read "packed with wince-worthy ethnic stereotyping" - it's the only way the writers know how to define character in a universe this soulless. Rated: 2/5 Aug 16, 2013 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad annavetticadgoes2themovies Planes is sweet. It’s also insubstantial and feels incomplete; a film I think I might have liked better if I’d never seen Pixar’s Cars. Rated: 2.75/5 Jan 15, 2023 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com One film that should find itself grounded from the box-office airways rather quickly.
